Pathfinder 1E Can a rogue use a heavy shield and keep evasion?

Can a level 13 (11 cleric/2 rogue) character keep evasion if they use a heavy shield?

The character has light armor, which is what evasion under rogue says it needs, but I
would have thought that a heavy shield would also disqualify it.

Thanks!

"Evasion can be used only if the rogue is wearing light armor or no armor."

I don't think that shields count as Armor (after all, the bonus they give to AC is a "Shield" bonus, not an "Armor" bonus), IMO by RAW they should be able to use it.

On 4e, if you have a shield equipped, you get a +2 bonus to your AC and to your REF defense (the equivalent of the reflex save). The logic being that reflex attacks are physical phenomenon (like fireballs, lightning bolts, etc) so you interpose the shield before them.

I would allow evasion with shields on my games.
