Can anyone give me some rp advices???

hey guys,
I have a problem.. In the ampaign I'm playing at the time i play a 20lvl drow bard/ 2 lvl seeker of the song and my quest is to find 3 gems... well i took the one and the other two are in an elven village... The one that gave me the quest told me not to kill the ones that have the gems....
So im at the village and have found the elf that has the gem and only have to make him somehow to give me the gem... Now the problem.. In the same village is the matron mother of my house an she told me to kill the elf and she would give me her gem as well.. But her brother told me not to kill him so that the mother would loose the favor of Lolth and be weak so that he could kill her. And if she dies then i'll be mother matron.
Any ideas? What should i do???

Can you tell me something about your character ?
E.g. alignment and perhaps a short summary of what your char wants and how he/she became Level 22 ?

And how you stand towards the questgiver/matron mother .

Agree with the brother to not kill the elf, on the condition he will kill the matron, make you matron mother, and you end up with her gem.

Inform the elf you have information about an attempt on his (her?) life. Make the elf give you the gem in exchange for the information the matron wants to have him/her dead.

return with the three gems. The matron is dead, but you did not kill her.

This, providing it follows your character's personality without clashing much.

Or take it a step further and fake the elf's death then you could get the matrons gem without having to rely on the brother.

The character is neutral evil a worshiper of Lolth. The whole party was prisoned in a plane where all the forgotten things go for about 3.000 years because of their evil-aligment and now came back to a world where anything nonhuman is forced to stay in the Underdark and they need the gems to make the world as it was before. My character and the matron mother were enemies until she was prisoned by the matron and adopted.

Herzog i love the idea but could it be possible cause the elf is the prince of the elves???

My guess is that your brother will betray you. It is in the nature of the drow, to stab its others backs. And I doudt that a male would just help a female. But hey, that is just me.

Kill them all, blame it on a light elf raiding party.

At first join with the brother and become matron mother after that eat him.
Or isn't that the priviledge of beeing a female drow ?
