Can I be a mod for just one post? Please?

Albatross!
Rel posted this in a closed thread in General since he posted right after it was locked by another mod.

Also, as is obvious, I can post to locked threads as a moderator.

The thread had descended to the point where it probably needed to be closed. No argument there. Unfortunately I had just typed up what I thought was a very eloquent (and non-inflammatory) reply to one comment and when I tried to post it, I couldn't. :(

Oh well. I guess I need to get my thoughts from the brain to the keyboard quicker. Maybe I'll get to use it again one day in another thread that is more constructive.

I've noticed the number of WotC/Dragon/Dungeon threads seems to be diminishing on the front page of General. I hope that means emotions are starting to return to a more normal level.

I posted too late as well to get in before the lock.

I wanted to mention how Social Contracts can help control devisivness in a gaming group.

Well that thread certainly made for an interesting afternoon!

Give it a couple days and if the topic still interests you, then you can open a new thread on the same topic (although, please don't do something like link back to the original). Usually, though, a couple days' distance and people settle back down and can discuss things civilly.

I was thinking I might do that. I'm trying to figure out how I would frame the initial post. I think the closed thread starting with a loaded question got everything off on the wrong foot.
