If you are going that route, you are far better off with potions of various sorts - spider climbing, jumping, cure light, etc.

The only other thing I could recommend would be masterwork weapons and armor.

A cloak of resistance +1 is a steal for 1,000gp. +1 to all saves is never a bad thing.

Definitly a Cloak of Resistance. Fighters are weak in the Saves. IIRC +1 armor also costs 1,000.
