Can someone write down the point-buy table?

Hiya all!

I'm working on a new character for a new campaign, and we will use the point-buy method for generating ability scores. Since we haven't used it before, and since I've lent out my DMG, I'd appreciate if someone could write down the table for how much a score is worth.

Thanks in advance! :)

It is, of course, wrong to reproduce the point buy tables as it violates the copyright.

Which means that if you were to type in "3rd edition point buy" into google.com you would get a list of all the people who are doing the wrong thing.

8 = 0 pts
9 = 1
10 = 2
11 = 3
12 = 4
13 = 5
14 = 6
15 = 8
16 = 10
17 = 13
18 = 16

Basically, all scores start at 8. It takes 1 pt per increase up to 14, 2 pts per increase up to 16, and 3 pts per increase up to 18.

Thanks!

I didn't want to violate the copyright law - actually I didn't think that far. Well, I guess I could have asked you to calculate the ability scores for me overall intead... but again, I didn't think that far. Have to go, bye bye, no harm done! *evil grin*

?

The way we read it is. All abilites start at 8, and you have so many points to spend.

To get that 8 con to an 18 con you spend 10 points. IF you started with 28 points,you would have 18 left.

I use a slightly modified version of the table, with 17 being only 12 points and 18 being 15.

My players also got 40 points to spend on their stats - far more than normal, I know, but it makes them tough, as they're going to need to be with the challenges they'll be facing.

Laughs evilly

I would double check the DMG.

Without violating copyrights, this table can also be found on each of the character creation pages for the RPGA LIving campiagns on WOTC's website
