Can Undead Rage?

Better than nothing, which was the alternative at the beginning of this thread.

Sometimes worse, sometimes better. IIRC, the average charisma score for the barbarians that have played in my group is about 6, so nothing gained there.

Emotion =! Barb Rage

Undead with Barb levels can rage.
Emotion can not make them rage (since they are immune to those types of effects)

One is a Ex ability and the other is a spell, they aren't the same thing.

Undead with Barb levels can rage (this has been verified several times), but it doesn't do them much good really (+4 Str, -2 AC, and only lasts 3 rounds, no extra hps).

Why is that I suddenly picture a lot highly charismatic dead barbarians.

Come on, people, charisma is the dumb-stat for barbarians, and although the ghost template grants a +4 to charisma, I don not think that really helps the poor ghostly sod more than using his non-existant constitution score.

So. If I were an undead barbarian, one of the first things I'd do is trade in my (now useless) Con boosting item and get me a Cha raising one instead. Wouldn't you? What? Oh, like all barbarians don't have one... ;)

So what if I end up only manage to get my Cha into the early teens, it's better than nothing. An extra round or two of rage seems like a great thing to me.

BTW, quite a few undead templates add to Charisma. So there are many paths to getting a low Cha undead into positive numbers.

I was also under the impression Int was the dump-stat for barbarians. My BBN has a 12 Cha (it's good for intimidate). Plus, who wants a barbarian who no one wants to be around. I guarantee Conan had a high Cha.

As for the topic of the after effects of fatigue, I'd say they don't suffer it. It's not that big a deal and they already get less out of their rage than living creatures. So I'd waive the penalty afterward. It only lasts the current battle anyway. It's not a lasting effect.
