Casting time: full round action, while grappling

First Post
So after the player playing the sorcerer witnessed how destructive grapple can be to his spellcasting he took the feat still spell. With his higher-than-his-cha con he can cast all but his highest level spells even while grappling. Everything is great until I read about metamagic feats and grapple in the player's handbook.
I'm not implying that he was cheating since I very much doubt he knew the rules of metamegicing and grappling.
According to the PHB a sorcerer casting a metamagicd spell increases the casting time to a full round action. Also, while grappling it is only possible to cast a spell that has a casting time of standard action or less.
I don't want his feat selection to be a waste, but I do want it to be a bit more difficult to cast full round spells while grappling. Something like a higher concentration DC might be a good idea, but how much higher?
Thanks in advance.

A +5 penalty sounds good. Or you could just ignore that rule about only standard-action casting times while grappling.

Also, your sorc should get dim door. Verbal component only. Great for all sorts of things, not just escaping a grapple.

The sorc does have dim door and it has been very useful :)

Another option I'm considering is having a grapple check vs concentration check.

The problem with an opposed check is that big monsters get humungous bonuses to grapple, and will often be of higher HD than the sorcerer anyway.
