Ack!

Didn't see that coming. I immediately went to check on the internet and, thank the gods, there's a 4th season :D

Yeah --

While I did see "the revealing twist" coming based on something that happened earlier in that episode, I admit that I didn't expect them to close with that ending .... a cliffhanger, yes since they end their seasons with them, but just not that cliffhanger.

And, like Kzach, I did have to immediately then look online to see if there was a 4th season ordered or not...

Same here on all counts. I didn't check the internet for a 4th season, though; I was about to, but then I thought "there is no way that's the series ending because the network would actually lose viewers as a result." Too much money to let the producers to do that.

You sometimes get endings that are close to that on British television due to the short seasons and the willingness to actually end shows, but never on US broadcast tv.

I knew there was a 4th season already, so I was less concerned about how the cliffhanger was going to turn out -- but there's always a chance that what the media thinks it knows about ... stuff ... isn't true at all. Shows have surprised people in the past.

I think it says something about Castle's writing that so many people ran to the internet to find out if this was the end of the show. ;) Good stuff. Great episode in an overall great season.

mild, hinted at, spoilers....

My son and I predicted who the 3rd cop was pretty much from the moment they wrote "3rd cop" on the wall, and were disappointed we were right. Why can't there just be good guys sometimes?

Also, I had earlier predicted the ending, but I figured it would happen at the hanger, so I was only half right on that. I wasn't so much disappointed with the ending, but I'm not sure how I felt about it. It's not like that character is going to die, so it isn't really a cliffhanger from my perspective.

It is the only drama we watch on tv.....

Boy that was quite a sting at the end. Also, the ratings for this series aren't half bad. It's even beating CSI!

And Kate Beckett even looks hot in her full police uniform! Was that the first time we saw her in uniform? I can't remember any previous occurrences.

Remind me never to watch anything with you.

And Monty IS a good guy. Just a good guy with a past.

The mobster kidnapping scheme could be considered chaotic good, perhaps, but his agreement to keep Beckett from getting anywhere with the investigation that angrily drove her every day wouldn't qualify as "good" to me, even if it was self-defensive.

His ongoing unethical behavior, knowing that she was constantly hurting, pushes him out of the top half of the alignment grid, in my opinion.
