CB's City of the Spider Queen v3.5 OOC

I've been doing maps using MS Paint lately, with only mixed results to my half satisfaction. What follows here is a map done using tables in MS Word. The attachment should open for you guys. If it doesn't, I need to please know right away so I can put the map up in other format. And if anyone has a suggestion for me on relatively simple, free, software that works well for creating battlemaps, I would dearly love to hear your idea(s). Thanks.

Not everyone has access to MS Word. I've printed out the document, scanned it back in and edited it, saving it as a .jpg. Hopefully, between the two, you'll be able to make things out. Again, let me know if there's a problem.

Edit: The map is in 5ft scale. Square W3 should be marked D2, for Drider 2, not D3. That's an error on my part, sorry. There's a map key at the bottom that I'm hoping will help you with details.

Edit 2: Apparently, EN World won't let users upload the same file in more than one thread. I've therefore had to take the .jpg image down from our OOC thread so I can upload it to our IC thread. If you're not able to click on the .doc and get the .doc to open, please trot over to the IC thread and check out the .jpg file in my post containing initiative. Thanks and sorry for the hullabaloo.

Kinem,
I owe you an apology. It was not my business to step in where I did. I had to put up with issues at work today, and you caught the brunt of my frustration. I did not intend to sound like a know-it-all. I just wanted to display my opinion in the matter (which in the grand scheme of things matters very little). I hope we can consider the matter closed and not have hostility between us in the future.

The driders need to be size large, not medium. Am now too tired to mess with this, so the correction will have to wait until tomorrow. My apologies. D1, D2, and D3 should please take up four squares, not one square as they currently appear on the map. And in case the grey font doesn't show up, the grey areas are main byways and alleys. That'll teach me to try out a new mapping method at the last minute. :\

Take a look at the thread http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=162904 I can't vouch for any of the software packages that people are talking about on there personally, but they might be worth a look.

On another note, Blite needs to be large as well.

GIMP is a pretty powerful tool, but those guys are right: the learning curve is very steep.

It's like Photoshop, only free and even harder to use.

CB: If possible, Prixo will generally carry two quivers with 20 arrows in each; 1 poisoned, 1 not. If you allow this now, he will make a full attack with rapid shot and boot haste with non-poisoned arrows. If not, he will continue to use poisoned arrows, and will use rapid shot but not haste. In either case he will stop if the drider loses consciousness.

CB, I will email you.

Mullubb: Apology accepted.

I have no quibble with this and can implement it effective for Round 2 in the IC thread. By "boot haste," do you mean boots of haste? Just double checking so that I can be sure we're on the same page.

I haven't checked the RG yet today--have you purchased anything to replace the Efficient Quiver?

ALL:

Just in case you might have missed it in the IC thread, it would save me an enormous amount of time and page-turning if you could please include your attack stats or spell information at the bottom of each combat post. If you'll be benefitting from more than one attack that round, then I ask that you please somehow differentiate each attack with a separate attack bonus so that I'm absolutely clear on what it is that you wish your PC to attempt. The general format I'm looking for is:

Example A: Greatsword +5 melee 2d6+6 dmg 19-20/2

Example B: Casting scorching ray. Ranged touch + 9, two rays of 4d6 damage each.

With 8 characters and the monsters/NPCs to track, anything you can do to help me speed up my posting time will translate into increased accuracy and faster response time for everyone. Thanks.

For Thursday, May 25th, I won't be available to post until after 7pm or so Hawaii Standard Time (HST), which is six hours behind New York at the moment. My apologies; the post will be late for most of you, but it will nonetheless be forthcoming. I'll more than likely be around this weekend to post as well, so if anyone cares to continue playing through the weekend, we will have that option available to us. Again, if you can't or simply don't care to post on a weekend, no worries. The game can wait 'til Monday.

I will edit my post with that type of info and include it in the future.
