CB's Grim Frequencies IC -- COMPLETE

"Girl is gowen to git us dead. Feral hop off da hood, we're moving."

J.R. pulls the SHO out into the road, once Feral has safely gotten off. It's a better option than DO trying to hold up traffic with a gun.

OOC: No one brought the firearm with them.

J.R. pulls out of the alley and maneuvers the SHO to block the right two lanes of westbound traffic on Michigan Street. No cars come for about twenty seconds, but then a steady stream of vehicles starts to roll in, timed from the previous traffic light near Arsenal Tech. The cars stop and line up, stacked three deep in the middle lane and four deep in the right lane. Two cars approaching from the east don't stop at all; they deftly move left and skirt past the "stalled" SHO. The driver of the second car in the middle lane--a late-model black SUV--blares his horn, then hammers on his left turn signal, and hauls tail with a chirp of his tires around the SHO. For the moment, the remaining six stopped vehicles stay put. A couple of the drivers look on in confusion. One of them picks up her cell phone, and you see her make a call.

OOC: With the left lane free, cars can still go across the tracks via the left lane.

Just then, a white Hummer approaches from the east. It comes to a stop in the middle lane on Michigan, then swings out into the left lane.

GM: Bear with me, folks. What follows is a map I touched up to more accurately reflect the environment as it exists on Michigan Street by the train tracks. The alley J.R. nipped into is on the top right portion of the map. Ignore the compass rose on the bottom of the map; North is actually 90 degrees to the left on this map. That "N" should really be an "E," for east.

OOC: It would help if you guys could orient yourselves to match the environment as I've described it to date. Normally, we would all orient ourselves with True North in mind, but here I need you to please orient yourself to the West. Imagine you are standing in the middle of Michigan Street, facing west. The alley is to your left (south). There are three lanes on Michigan, not two. The train tracks run north/south. Vehicle A is not there. Vehicle B is your Taurus SHO, and it's "stalled" horizontally across the two right lanes. The left lane on Michigan Street is free.

GM: Roll initiative, everyone! All five of you had advance warning to expect a white Hummer, so each of you may also take a surprise-round action. The map is not to scale (a square is NOT 5'). Unfortunately, I don't have a viable scale for the map. I ask, instead, that you use it merely as a visual aid to get a rough approximation where things are in relation to one another. The map should not be relied on with any precision re: combat actions. We'll wing that part using descriptive text and a metric ton of patience.
