[sblock=nature roll] With IC down, I'll try the embedded roller: [17]

The gouges uncovered by Guran with his trowel back in the mud-caked wall in Corridor A look like claw marks made by beast of some sort, though what size and kind Father Spec can't tell.
Strahd_Von_Zarovich, have you rolled an Intelligence (Nature) check yet for Roscoe re: the gouge marks in the wall? I didn't think you had, but a lot has happened in the interim and I can't be sure.

Guran checks the door to Room 6 for traps and, not finding any, opens the door. There must be rust caught in the hinges of the door, because unlike the other doors the group has opened so far, this one squeaks and groans. Loudly. With echoes up and down the hall. Guran stops pushing the door open immediately when the portal begins to squeak.

Even with the door only partially open, the group can peer in and see the interior of the darkened room, which seems to be a replica of Room 5. A large oak table--roughly five feet wide and fifteen feet long--dominates the center of the room. Broken chairs surrounded the table. Tapestries hang on the north wall, but age and who knows what else seems to have damaged them beyond recognition; these tapestries are in even worse condition than the ones you found in the antechamber. There is a door centered on the opposite wall (north), and two other doors besides (one on both the east and west walls, each). All three of these doors are closed.

Fulgrim grimaced at the sound. He was pretty sure he had not brought any oil with him to loosen up the hinges. Whispering, he said, "Perhaps we should try a different door? Maybe the one on the north side of the room and close to the exit, in case the noise draws any threats?"

Alarmed by the sound the door makes, Guran leaves the door as it is without moving it any further. He nods decisively to Fulgrim and points westward with a shrug. He quietly asks, "We haven't been through that next corridor, so shall we go that way?"

He reaches his torch toward Father Spec and asks, "Like to carry? You can hold it higher than I can."

Father Spec looks at the torch, and the right side of his mouth begins to curl up in spite of himself. He *loves* these moments.

"Genetheto phos" he says, snapping his fingers. As he does so his thumb begins to glow brightly, illuminating a 20' radius brightly. It looks like the thumb is glowing white hot -- the illumination extends even another twenty feet beyond that -- and it overpowers the effects of the torch. He holds his thumb up, and proudly states, "I can see fine without it..." before chortling to himself.

The reaction of his compatriots suggests they are surprised, so he holds his thumb up to his lips and blows it out, dismissing the effects of the cantrip. His thumb returns to normal. He shakes it out, pretending he has suffered a light burn.

"My apologies," he says, immensely proud of himself and not clearly sorry for anything. "But I have my own light, and you can save your torch." Saying that he casts the spell again on the head of his mace, and lifts it up to illuminate the corridor.

Colden smiles as the light from the magic spell permeates the area. He quickly drops his torch and straps his shield to his arm. Feeling better now that he has both his weapon and shield ready he nods to Guran. "Sure, sounds good to me."

Intrigued by Father Spec's use of magic, Fulgrim distractedly replied to Guran, "That works too. I suspect there is another room to the north, but we can examine that one in due time. Let's head west then."
