D&D 5E CB's Stonefast IC -- COMPLETE

Colden kicks the skeletal remains with his foot, not trusting that they won't rise again. "Aye Fulgrim, ready to move on. These undead dwarves might be guarding more of Stonefast."

He looks at the others, "You seemed to drop them pretty quickly. Do they have a weak spot?"

Never saw such a thing.
Roscoe says with awe
I Fought goblins and beasts in the wild but first time I encounter such an horror ... friends back home will never believe me.
He push aside with the tip of his sword the bones that just danced around his new friends, making sure they will not reanimate.

Fulgrim pondered Colden's question for a moment. "Due to their form and structure, I believe blunt force trauma is most effective. Their immunity to exsanguination limits other options. " Pausing when he noticed some of the others not following, the dwarf restated his position, "Uh, smash them, rather than poke at them. They can't bleed out."

"Oh. Is that what it is?" Guran responds. "And here I am owning only one light hammer; so perhaps I should have used it in melee instead of throwing it? I'll have to think about that some more."

He remembers to retrieve his thrown handaxe and light hammer before talking further, then goes toward the hidden door.

"I see no doorhandle. Would there be a release mechanism, or hidden keyhole, or magic password? Hmmm. . . "

"The opening mechanism varied with the craftsdwarf. Perhaps if we both looked?" Fulgrim moved to assist Guran with his search.

OOC: Fulgrim is using Help to provide Guran with Advantage on whatever check is needed to uncover the mechanism to open the door.

OOC: Well, with encouragement like that, of course Guran has to try.

Guran looks for a sconce into which he can place his torch while he searches. Among the objects of his search are: sconces that act as levers, whereby pulling down a sconce causes the door to open or unlock; pieces of stonework on the wall around the hidden door that a person might push in to open the door; furniture that is securely fastened in place instead of being movable, which might conceal hidden buttons or levers; wall decorations that might conceal mechanisms behind them.
OOC: Trying INT (Investigation) with advantage from Fulgrims Help:
"Guran investigating room for clues to open hidden door":
_: 2D20.HIGH(1)+2 = [8, 4]+2 = 10

He thanks Fulgrim for his help.
If he finds nothing, he then turns to Father Spec and looks at him as if waiting to see the Investigator do some investigating.

Roscoe nudges the scattered bones with the tip of his sword. None of the bones come to life; they lay here and there on the floor, as do the blades wielded by the skeletons.

Fulgrim and Guran set about inspecting the eastern wall of Room 7. Room 7 has a sconce on the southern wall--Guran sticks his torch there while the pair search. As small as the room is, one torch is plenty, particularly when combined with Spec's light. After a few moments, Guran finds that three stones on the left of the lintel of the secret door compress. Finding no traps, Guran depresses the three stones. The door slides open into a pocket recess in the wall, kicking up a cloud of dust.

The room (Room 8) beyond the secret door is a twin of Room 7, only very obviously untouched. A thick layer of dust coats the floor, and an iron chest along the room's eastern wall--opposite the open secret door. Cobwebs hang in thick sheets from the ceiling, trailing along the dust on the floor. Unlike the hallways, corridors, and some of the rooms the group has previously encountered, this room has no mud in it.

Fulgrim raised an eyebrow when Colden mentioned the room being clean. "Remind me to purchase a lexicon for you when we get back to Luskan. But I think you're on to something. The room looks like it has been untouched by whatever other elements have been running rampant through the rest of the hold. If the room has lain undiscovered until now, it may make a decent place to rest and recover. Although, we're not too far from the entrance either if we would prefer to make camp outside."

The dwarf mage entered the small room, inspecting the stones on the opposite side of the wall to see if they worked in a similar way.

OOC: Is it a 10x10 like the room we were in? Updating the map.
