With all the snacks in front of him, Smiley still manages to bite air (rolled 7).

Round 168: The rats swarm to 60N85E, crawling all over themselves to turn the tables on a snake. Smiley bites at them as they invade his space (AoO roll 14), chomping several rats for 10 points of damage. The swarm has 3 HP remaining. The rats bite back for 4, and the thought of being eaten by prey makes Smiley sick to his stomach (rolled 11 Fort save). Smiley has 10 HP left, and is nauseated (can only take one MEA until his stomach settles).

Round 169: The rats swarm to 60N75E and bite for 6. Smiley has 4 HP remaining, and is feeling much better (rolled 18 Fort save).

Should I time compress this battle?

Smiley slithers to 60N70E and chomps the rats for another 10. The rats disperse, and the individuals remaining flee the arena. Smiley has 10 HP remaining.

Round 170: A reptile with bristling back spines, a snaky tail, and muscled forelimbs comes leaping to the charge, landing at 60N75E. Its limbs and tail glisten with clear liquid. It hits with just one foreclaw, another claw and tail aiming at the incorrect spot. Smiley takes 8 points of damage, but resists the poison (natural 20 Fort). The lizard tries to flip Smiley over with its foreclaw, but Smiley fights it off (20 vs. 9). Smiley has 2 HP remaining, and it is his go. Time compression still on?

Thank you, Infiniti. I guess I scrolled up too fast. :o This is what really happened:

Smiley was easily flipped over because he is at -4 HP and dying.

First in round 171 for Chaotic Evil is a quasit (Monster Manual). If anyone does not have the Monster Manual, I could E-mail you the stats. :)
