Birdie bites Jurlfalud (rolled 18+1=19) for 19 points of damage, and grabs on. Jurlfalud's return bite is not so successful (rolled 17-4-3=10), and Jurlfalud goes unconscious. Birdie flies to 55N55E15Z, westbound. Birdie has 32 HP remaining.

Chaotic Evil cheers that Jurlfalud was able to hurt Birdie as much as she did.

First in round 657 for Chaotic Evil is Raaze the very young red dragon (Draconomicon). For those without the book, she has the feats Flyby Attack, Hover, Power Attack, and Wingover.

Birdie finally fails to dodge (natural 1 Ref save), taking 24 points of fire damage. Birdie has 8 HP remaining. Raaze can breathe again in round 659.

Birdie flies to 20N50E20Z, eastbound and zaps Raaze (20 ranged touch) for 31 points of sonic damage. Raaze has 64 HP remaining.

Round 659

Raaze stops hovering, and flies down to breathe. Before she gets there, Birdie zaps her (17 ranged touch) for 25 points of sonic damage. Raaze breathes a cone of fire, and Birdie dodges, but still takes 10 points of fire damage, plus 8 points from the fall. Birdie is dead. Cheers erupt on the Chaotic Evil sidelines.

Raaze ends up at 80N80E40Z, northbound. Raaze has 39 HP remaining, and can breathe in round 662.

Round 660

A large turtle with four flippers, two crablike claws, and a head with a vertical mouth, all arranged seemingly at random from holes in its shell, flops into the arena to 60N110E.

The turtle flops over to 60N100E and waits. Should I time compress until Raaze hovers 40 feet overhead and breathes fire?

Time compression is good, but Raaze will try to lure the turtle further and further west. So, she'll hover to above the turtle, breathe, and then using flyby attack hover back.
