Yeah, I do say they can be scary, because my friends left me outside with a "whole pack" when we were camping, when it was actually me just snoring. They just happen to represent good in the ways you mentioned, a family unit that will protect cubs at any cost.

Gee, never thought about it, but many heros are "dark", and I plan on playing a "dark hero" awakened dire wolf when Savage Species comes out. Hmmm....maybe I should name him Dark Wolf.

Why do you want them associated with a specific race or creature? I thought you wanted counterparts for the Archdevils and Demon Princes (you said between powerful Celestials and deities), which are all non-raced unique beings.

Well, here's mine:

Sirya - The Wielder of Quiet - NG

She is supposed to be absolute opposite to any kind of violence, and have powers which hinder or suppress any harming action (being it attack or spell), could be some "Aura of harmlessness". She may carry something called Quiet itself (a weapon or touch that when strikes, it doesn't hurt but the target may be unable to purposefully hurt anybody at all for some time).
Could be the most unuseful creature in the game, but otherwise very spooky indeed, and anyway something I've yet to see.
Make her Nymph if you like.
