Strum the worm squirms slowly out onto the field, its tick rubbery orange body wiggling spasmoticly it moves to 60N130E and rears up, its mouth gapes revealing a maw full of teeth. The teeth slide up and away vanishing into its gums.
(ready sonic ray if opponent comes in range)

Edit: compress if you want strum will repeat the move and hold until in range as he is not eager to fight or bright enough to try anything else.

You mean 60N100E. The arena is 120 feet square.

Round 91:

The protectar charges to 60N95E5Z. The worm fires its ray. Hit for 6! Protectar has 7 hp left.

Protectar misses.

Round 92: The worm steps to 60N105E and misses with the ray. Protectar concentrates and heals back up to 13 hp.

Round 93: The worm moves to 40N105E and misses. Protectar moves to 45N100E5Z and hits for 7. Worm has 8 hp left.

Round 94: The worm steps to 35N100E and misses. Protectar steps to 40N100E5Z and misses.

Round 95: Worm steps to 30N95E and crits for 5. Protectar has 8 hp left. Protectar steps to 35N95E5Z and hits for 8. Worm has 0 hp and is disabled.

Round 96: Worm shoots a dying ray, hits for 2, and falls. Protectar concentrates and heals to 9 hp.

Round 97: The worm is defeated!

Next up for N: a bat swarm! (MM)

Eeep Eeep Eeeep!
The bloodthirsty swarm of bats darts into the arena shrieking - it immedaitly surrounds the flying Protectar covering him with tiny bites.
just for fun it will fill the spaces north and south of the protectar as well as n35 (e95&e100)

In the stands the CG crowd shakes their heads - things look black for the Protectar!

Ooc: squish away, but Id like to switch sides If I have the right book.

Round 97

OOC: I'm little confused about the shape of the swarm, but in this case it won't matter.

The proctectar takes 5 points of damage! He has 4 hp left.

The proctectar is not distracted by the bats. (Rolled 23 Fort save)

He flies 20 feet straight up, concentrates, and heals to 8 hp.

Round 98:

The bats follow and the protectar takes 6 points of damage! The proctectar has 2 hp left.

The protectar is not distracted (Rolled 19 Fort save), but very worried! He flies down 5 feet to 20 Z and swings, not affecting the bats in the least! He takes a point of wounding damage and has 1 hp left.

Round 99:

The bats follow and bite the poor protectar for 1! The protectar is disabled.

The protectar lands so he doesn't take even more damage from a fall. He takes a point of wounding damage and drops.

Round 100:

The bats move to 35N60E20Z, forming a 10 foot cube.

Next up for CG: a bariaur. (Book of Exalted Deeds)

The bariaur goes next in round 100.
 

Barnibus trots into the arena, his cloven feet clicking on the ground. (moving to 50n25e)
he rears and paws the air. He readies his scimitar for the swarm.
 

Round 101:

The swarm lands at 50N25E. Barnibus swings, but the swarm could care less if a couple of bats die. Barnibus is bitten for 1 point of damage and has 15 hp left.

Barnibus goes first in round 102. He is not distracted. (Rolled 11 Fort save)
 

Ooc: I thought bat swarms took half damage from slashing/peircing weapons - while a centipede swarms for example are immune to weapons. (this also implies they take full damage from blunt weapons (hooves)

Barnibus will take a full round of attacks, and if the swarm seems uneffected he will trot out of the arena, on the round afterwards.
 

The crowds start up a chant, "Bring back the Protectar, bring back the Protectar!" They quiet down quickly, though, when a cornugon enters and takes a seat in a very large wingchair, right next to the window. The previous occupant of the chair, well, let's just not talk about it.
 

Round 102

OOC: Swarms of diminutive creatures are immune to all weapon damage. The MM errata fixed the error for the bat swarm and spider swarm.

The bariaur slashes and stomps. A few bats die, but not enough to have an effect. He takes a point of damage from his wound, and has 14 hp left.

The bats bite Barnibus for another 4 points of damage. He has 10 hp left.

Round 103: Barnibus is not distracted by the bats, but is disappointed as he leaves the arena to a smattering of boos from the crowd.

Next up for CG: a brass dragon wyrmling. (use the sample from the Draconomicon)

The dragon goes first in Round 103. PJSlavner will conduct the combat with you.
