CG vs. N: Chaotic Good Victorious!

OOC: How useful is the spell immunity spell if you do not have ranks in Spellcraft? Can you use it to make yourself immune to only those spells you can cast? Or maybe even adding spells that associates of yours have cast in your presence, and then explained the effects along with the name of the spell?

No ranks in ... well, I'll be. Of course, ranks in Jump is much more useful for an incorporeal creature with perfect flight. Maybe that should be houseruled as ranks in Spellcraft instead. :)

Round 586: Shelly is overhead. The building just sits there, and nothing apparently happens.

Round 587: Shelly lets loose with a cone of cold, but does not affect the building (rolled 20 CL check).
The building still just sit there, but Shelly gets hit with five darts of force (made CL check) for 18 points of damage. Shelly has 34 HP remaining. What next, Shelly?

Round 588: Shelly has improved spell resistance now.
It does not seem to make a difference, as again she is hit with five force darts for 20 points of damage. Shelly is down to 14 HP.

OOC: According to Gansk's latest ruling (see the Mechanus Arena), Shelly cannot burn an enthrall for a cure moderate wounds. I initially agreed with the ruling; I am even the one that anticipated it and agreed with it before Gansk made it. After further review, I am not so sure. The argument in favor of the ruling is that creatures that cast spells as "nth level caster" do not get the class features of the class (similar to casting prestige classes not having a familiar or turning ability get better). One problem with this is that spontaneous casting is not listed as a class feature in the "special" column. Also, if one casts as a cleric or druid, one way a cleric or druid can cast spells is spontaneously. I can see either argument, although I believe I was in error earlier, before I looked into it further (and I am not saying that because I have a druidical caster in the Mechanus Arena).

As her wounds have now reached a critical point, Shelly now uses her cure critical wounds spell.

OOC: this sounds like it needs to be knocked around the rules forum, but I will accept the ruling here. After all I considered the humanoid flight ruling an unlikely win.

OOC: What is it with you Chaotics that you want to litter the arenas? Psybo should start fining you 500 GP.

Round 590: There is a wall of ice five feet to the south of the huge building.
The building gets through Shelly's spell resistance, hitting her with 5 force darts for 13 points of damage. Shelly has 24 HP remaining.
