Chakken's Dilemma

Glad to hear there is some positive progress for you!
If you are looking at Indiana/Illinois in the Chicago/Gary area -- go for Illinois. Great gaming crowd NW of the city, and you don't want to have to drive to be near them. :)

Gina has family in both Indiana and Illinios and I have family in Indiana. We are looking more at Indiana as the unit in terre haute has a job opening and will be getting full time positions some time in Jan-Mar of 2007. But anything is possible as we are in the looking phase of the family plan. As for places of interest we were looking at Romeoville in Ill, and Hobart and someplace with a V in Indi. As for why we want to get out of arizona, its a long story but in short, we have been planning this for over a year now. And I always was the one that shot it down as I was scared to be away from my family and the job I have is pretty solid. But with the issues I'm having with my family, work and other outside sources make it hard for me to be a positive person in this city. And it is the same with Gina (just apply to her). We both feel we need to be on or own, and moving might be viewed as a get away or copout but to my surpirse I have alot of backing with close friends aware of this. I just want to be sure to do this the right way and not get in over my head. As to why I'm working on the job first, home second and from there everything should fall where it needs to be. As for a full time job in the process, well we will most likely have money left over from the loan which will be used as a buffer if the full time slots aren't avilable, plus we already have a same but decent nest egg. This is very EXCITING for us, and its brought us both and kids to together pretty close. Gotta run, going home

Things are progressing well, I just confirmed with the supervisor in Indiana that he does in fact want me to be in his shop and is willing to work with me on getting enough time to get there. They also are getting full time jobs at that unit and I most likely will get one. And if not that can get me some days to work with them until something does pop up. All I have to do now is the paperwork at my current base and get that ball rolling. As for the house I need to hit up the VA and get some loan stuff completed so I can get the home loan for a house that we want. So I might be out of tucson as early as late jan early feb, which would be aswome.
Things between me and Gina are going great, and as i said before we are growing a stronger realationship by doing more together and talking more. That and my oldest ask gina the other day when we were going to have our wedding (we never did, we did the justice of the peace) and she said after we move we will. So that is a really go sign for our future. But hopefully you all who read this are having a wonderful holiday season.

I'm glad that you're feeling happier about the situation Chakken. I like to live by the motto "Do what makes you happy" (within reason of course!). I like to think that if you do that, everything else will fall into place. Even if everything doesn't, things will annoy you a whole lot less than if you're not happy.

What do you do for a job out of interest?

Most excellent news. I hope that you guys are able to move smoothly and that your new life in the Midwest can be everything you'd hope for. Stay positive, don't forget that they have help managing anger in the Midwest if you need it after the move, and bring a snow shovel! ;P

I work in the Air Force, in the operation center. kinda get to deal with alot of aircraft stuff, and other things that I can't really speak about over the internet...but its a good job.

And as for the move, its a very positive thing. I spoke with supervisor up in terre haute and he is very interested at getting me up there, and I will mostly likely get promoted quickly there too. which is great. They also have full time jobs which will open soon.

But I thank you all for the support you have given me. I have said it before but I don't have many friends here in Sunny Arizona but you all went out of you way and lent me an ear. I won't forget that generosity. Oh, and Grimwell I don't need a shovel. Grandpa has a snow plow that he'll lend me....

Cool!

I can imagine that it would be Secret Squirrel business and all that jazz. I hope the move goes smoothly for you. Moving about 15kms to our new house was hard enough for me. I can't imagine the "fun" of moving to another state.

The last line made me start singing in my head the "Mr Plow" song from the Simpsons. "...that name again is Mr Plow!" :D
