Challenge: Pure core wizard melee combatant

Personally, I don't see a difference between Lightning Bolt 's "Area: 120' line" (PHB) and Whirling Blade's "Effect: 60' line" (Spell Compendium...does it differ in Complete Arcane?- mine is on loan so I can't check) in terms of one being area effect and the other not.

If its not an area effect line, it should say Ray. Heck, I can't even think of another spell that has "Effect: line" as opposed to "Area: line."

IMHO, its a typo.

Actually I would consider it different, but still allow Sculpt Spell (take that Solomon ).

I'll go reply to DannyAlcatraz's thread with my reasoning.
