Because the elven swashbuckler/fighter/corellon adding STR, INT and DEX to damage, while maintaining a good AC and attack bonus is really weak.

The Correlon/Swashbuckler don't mesh perfectly. You don't get to add the int damage when you wear anything heavier than light.

Still, as mentioned by Gabrion with the swashbuckler/fighter/corellon you get to spread damage boosting items between three different stats.

I'm quite sure that finesse fighters can be effective, but it takes a fair amount of skill to create an effective finesse fighter and to keep the finesse fighter effective. My experience indicates that, if I see a random finesse fighter at a con table, he's likely to be underpowered--and if he isn't underpowered, he's making up for his lack of damage dealing capability by doing something else.

I decided that I was "jipping" myself if i had to twink out a finessed fighter just to be competetive. Decided to save myself the effort and the frustrations and go the route of the traditional strength fighter. Heh.

I think the class is a little overpowered... Especially with the Scout-Fighter-Dervish-Wildrunner-Champion combo.

The only real throw-away feat is Mounted Combat. Dodge is a prereq for Mobility which is a prereq for ELUSIVE TARGET. Combat Expertise is always useful. Weapon focus is something every good fighter type should have. And you get the feat you wasted on Mounted Combat back with the bonus feat. Two levels of this class are great - I am not sure how I feel about the entire class.

However, all of the people's builds for Champions have Dex much higher than Str. Str should always be the key stat (and since you're an elf, put enough points into Con to give yourself a 12 after adjustments). I think a Wood Elf is best for the build. Starting with a 16 Str and Dex is ideal with putting your stat points into Str (for the to hit) or Con (for hit points).
