Character Creation Rut

Ignoring the much appreciated silliness, I'd reccomend a LN Human Wizard 10/Archmage 7. By this point the character would be a force to be reckoned with--you get to skip all the crappy low level stuff.

Except you have to be at least 14th level to become an Archmage (Wizard 13/Archmage 1). One of the prerequisites is the ability to cast 7th level spells.
Besides, Archmage is only a 5 level prestige class.
Now, I'm looking at the 3.5 archmage, I can't remember how much (if any) it has changed from 3.0.
The campaign is mostly 3.0, but I'm sure a 3.5 character can fit in easily.

Stop it. I'm serious. You're just going to get yourself into trouble, being all hilarious and everything. Just put the funny down and walk away. Slowly.

By the Gods, I'm dumb

Hmm...yes. So it would seem, Gentle Giant. I appreciate the lack of a flame.

Truly, you live by your name.

Seriously though, I posted that off the top of my head, at work, with no books. Thanks for the corrections.

Flame you for that? Don't be silly :D

I appreciate the input, so feel free to post more suggestions.

In my opinion, the Hero's Builder Guide from Wotc is the best product for this kind of thing. Now the vast majority of the book is very much crap, but this one section makes it all worthwhile.

It is a series of events in your character's life, from parents and number of siblings to ancient ancestors you had. You can choose from the list or roll it. Me and my friends have created vast cool concepts using some of those background ideas. I would highly recommend it for any group that is sometimes finding it hard to come up with new and creative ideas.

Well, I'll have to browse it at my FLGS since I don't think any of my friends or acquaintances have that one.

Some things I always enjoy:
Ranger/Assassin - The rogue'll love you cause you'll be quiet
Cleric/War Priest (badass with leadership) - when can't you use more healing?
Monk/Sorcorer/Dragon Disciple (sucks he said no psionics because my monk/psychic warrior isn't even right)
A plane traveling kender lost on Faerun - Now that should piss off your fellow pc's when things go missing in your hoopak (even better with a glove or two of storing)

I propose that you do something really off the wall.

I played a Gray Slaad for a one-shot once, and it was simply a blast. They are ECL 16, so you could be a Gray Slaad with a first level in a prestige class, the new Divine Champion is my pick. Treat the character as chaos incarnate, come to Faerun to "shatter the bonds of order that let a few unworthy individuals control the majority of the material world." You could run that as Chaotic with Good tendencies if you fight injustice and oppression, with neutral tendencies if you do it out of opposition to needless order, or evil tendencies if you just like to make waves in the world to increase the chaos inherent in it.

Slaadi being extraordinarily resilient, things that might seem suicidal to mortals would probably go a long way towards impressing potential followers. The current group seems rather politicized, so having an agenda and political motivation would be a good hook for your character to join the party.

Hmm, this certainly sounds interesting.
Now, I've never created a monstrous PC (apart from some of the "standard" ones where everything is already statted out), so how would I go about creating this character?
If I follow the "Monsters as Races" section in the DMG (3.0) I get the following:

Gray Slaad
Str +8
Dex +2
Con +6
Int +4
Wis +4
Cha +4

3 feats
118 skill points

I would assume that they also get all of their Special Qualities (Fast healing 5, Damage reduction etc) + their spell-like abilities (animate object, chaos hammer etc.)

What about natural armor (11), BAB, Saves and so on?

Am I doing this the right way?
And how did you ECL of 16 and are you sure that's the equivalent of Level Adjustment (seing that it has a Challenge rating of 10, where an Ogre Mage has a Challenge rating of 8 and a Level Adjustment of 9)?

I'm liking this concept a lot... of course, the DM has to approve, but I think he can be persuaded.
