Trapfinding is overrated. My barbarian just triggers them all. That's what Trap Sense is for.

You have a barbarian in your party. It's his obligation to pump barbarian levels. Traps are no longer your problem.

Your particular problem is scouting. Be a monk.

One weird thing about the scout - correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that he can find traps, but can't do anything about them. Right?

No. This has been errata'd. They have Disable Device on their class list.

Is there an equivalent of "Daring Outlaw" for Scout/Swash combination? I don't have my books with me at work (they are out in my car, and I'm at a new job where I can't sneak out to get them :))

They've pretty much covered it.

You've knocked out most of the alternatives, by the way. You don't want to be a rogue, tank, arcanist, or nature type. You've really only left archer, monk and cleric.

Maybe you should shoot for Shadowbane Stalker (Complete Adventurer). It's a pretty non-traditional rogue build (and probably not cleric enough to trample on your other cleric, but enough to chip in). You could build it either as a paladin/rogue or a cleric/rogue.

Requirements are light and can be met at 5th level, letting you get an early start on the pclass. It's not a real power class (you won't have full spellcasting), if that's a concern, but it doesn't utterly suck either.

That's good to know! :D

I was just looking at the variants in PHBII - do you think Dungeon Specialist is worth giving up the extra speed for?

I hadn't noticed the Shield of Blades variant for the Swashbuckler- it's definitely worth including in the build I posted in the AC thread.

I think Dungeon Specialist would be amazingly fun to play... and not just in the Dungeon.

Consider a Scout with a climb speed, a lot of ranks in Jump and Hide, and throwing weapons who is in the trees...

I like the scout/swashbuckler a bit more than the rogue/swashbuckler. I think I'll go that direction. At least now I have something picked.

So I'll repeat the question: Is there an equivalent of the Daring _______ feats for Swash/scout?

I'll have to confer with my DM then. Would it terribly unbalancing to create a feat that lets you stack Swashbuckler and scout levels essentially the same way the Daring Outlaw does? (just switch Sneak Attack for Skirmish Damage/AC)
