Character sheets for brand new players

Hi, I've not posted on here before. I am doing a D&D 5th edition session next week for a group of players, most of whom have no RPG experience. I am looking for a character sheet that has doesn't overwhelm them with too much information, but will let them get into the game with the minimum of fuss. I'd be grateful for any suggestions/ links. Thank you in advance for your collective assistance.

I'd just suggest using the sheet from the Starting Kit. Ignore the sections you do not want to use, and as the players get more comfortable with the game, introduce other concepts "organically" as situations come up within the adventure that the "new thing" on the character sheet would be applicable to.

4e had a starting adventure with simple sheets that did just that. You may want to check into that for ideas, if you've got access to the material.

One other suggestion: Pencil-and-paper it. Just make your own sheet with the core information you feel has to be there, then gradually build from there.

Whichever one you choose, make sure the characters are pre-generated so they can dive straight into the fun. Once they've got the hang of things they can generate new characters or re-imagine their old ones.
