Check Out This Sneak Peek At OUT OF THE ABYSS

Courtesy of WotC is this preview from the upcoming adventure, Out of the Abyss. This preview features Zuggtmoy, the Lady of Rot, and the Demon Queen of Fungi. Out of the Abyss is only a month away now (or even earlier for preferred stores which get an 11-day head start). "Zuggtmoy, Demoness Lady of Fungi, dread and fell ruler of the 222nd ghastly plane of the Abyss, made her first full appearance in T1-4 The Temple of Elemental Evil. In her natural form, she appeared as a puffball mushroom with a toadstool growing on top. Four elephantine legs with suckers on the bottoms supported her spherical body. Truly disgusting to smell, and just as revolting to behold, Zuggtmoy is capable of summoning legions of hostile fungi to do her bidding, and may control all manner of plant life within her sphere of influence."

The devotion might begin with the seemingly harmless promises offered by exotic spores and mushrooms, but quickly consume them, body and soul.
I always knew Mario was up to no good.

As the things she can use it on don't even have to be monsters just normal mushrooms and fungus and given that her lair is a bunch of giant mushrooms and fungus means she can hit the group all the time with her spores before they even get to her.
How big is the lair? PCs have plenty of devastating area effects that should obliterate most non creature things in the area.

The yonic overtones on the picture are quite apt for a mother/growth figure. Disturbing to say the least though.
It's much less blatant than the Cover of Dragon 334! http://christopherstevens.deviantart.com/art/Zuggtmoy-Queen-of-Fungi-44003039

Her lair is her palace in Shedaklah her layer of the Abyss.

Zuggtmoy rules from the center of the layer in a palace that consists of two dozen or so gigantic mushrooms, each connected to each other by shelf-fungi, and each four miles tall. Numerous chambers and corridors has been carved within the mushrooms; it is said not even Zuggtmoy herself knows the full extent of the palace.

Pretty much it will be hard to get to her.

Legend
Here's the thing: Zuggtmoy is the queen of fungi, right?

You know the mushroom? That's not the actual fungus. That's essentially the fruit of the fungus. The real fungus is a bunch of filaments underground.

The forms we see of Zuggtmoy here should be more like her mushrooms - they are growths she makes for various purposes, but they're not her. Her real form should be dispersed all around her lair (and for that matter, layer). She should be able to make "mushrooms" look different for various different purposes - if she wants to go on a "woo the mortals" spree she might opt for a less monstrous form.
