Hey Buzz, I am more then happy to step up and fill the slots, but let's give it a week or so for some other folk to find the thread and pipe in. If by WED of next week no one has filled them up, I'll do so happily.
Coolio.

1.5 hours just seems WAY too long to me...but hey, it's up to you Buzz.
Gotcha. Anyone else have an opinion?

Anyway, that was my IDEA; what would work best?
Why not just make the PC list part of the event description, which will get sent out with the announcement?

N-cat... due to the nature of a Dread game, I'll have to do something similar similar. In others words, each of the four slots in my game will have a character associated with it. People who sign up will have to choose a character ahead of time so that they can fill out the appropriate questionnaire ahead of time.

(Of course, I need to finish the questionnaires first. :o )

Hey all...not to steal any fire from Gameday, which I know it won't but I did want to let folks know that if they wanted to try BSG out I am running a Event Day at Games Plus...

On September 15th, 2007, MWP, CS|RPG, and GAMES PLUS are hosting several BATTLESTAR GALACTICA RPG events to be run at Games Plus in Mt. Prospect, IL (the NW suburbs of Chicago).

There will be two tables set for both a morning and afternoon event with each table running a 4-hour event for 6 players. There will be a sign up sheet starting tomorrow (Sept 8) at Games Plus, please sign-up in advance to guarantee a seat.

The morning events will begin promptly at 10:30am and will end no later then 2:30 pm. The afternoon events will begin promptly at 3:00pm and will end no later then 7:00 pm.

This is a great opportunity to try the game out before you decide to purchase it. Everything will be provided for you to play; no experience necessary! For those that might be interested, there will be a limited number of Corebooks available for purchase through the store.

MWP (Margaret Weis Productions) is the developer and publisher of the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA RPG, which uses an adapted Cortex System engine, the same base system used by the award winning SERENITY RPG.

Games Plus (Chicagoland's Source for Adventure Gaming for Over 25 Years) is located at:
101 W. Prospect Ave.,
Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.
Phone: 847.577.9656
Web: http://www.games-plus.com/

CS|RPG (www.cortexsystemrpg.org) is a fan-based community owned by FCWesel and it is dedicated to all the games (official and homebrew discussion) released under the Cortex System, including BSG, Serenity, Supernatural and Demon Hunters.

Why not just make the PC list part of the event description, which will get sent out with the announcement?

As far as the break length goes, I think perhaps FC may be suffering from the fact that he's only ten minutes from Games Plus and can pretty much drop by anytime he wants; many of the rest of us don't make it in quite so often and perhaps may appreciate a longer shopping/visiting break more than the "locals". Or maybe I'm just wishy-washy and need more shopping time than Floyd does. *g*

And I can certainly make the PC list part of the event description; I just thought that might be a touch long. If you're cool with it, I am too.

So, my new event description would be:

Supernatural (Unisystem/WitchCraft): "Best Laid Lines of Demons and Men"

Things are getting bad in the Midwest. Supernatural trouble has been increasing all across the board, with no distinct pattern anyone has been able to detect. It makes for good business at the Roadhouse, so many hunters passing through and in the area that Ellen has to make extra supply orders just to keep up, but the problem is that things seem to be getting worse, not better. When an old friend of the Winchesters calls from Kansas saying there's big trouble on the way, it's the only lead that's available...

Best Laid Lines of Demons and Men is a Unisystem adventure for up to six players in the setting of the CW's "Supernatural" television show. Thirteen pre-generated characters will be available to choose from, including some from the show (sorry, none of the Winchesters are player characters, nor is Ellen.) Unisystem is a simple system to learn and use, needing only 1d10 for all rolls other than damage. No familiarity with the Supernatural tv show is needed -though it might well prove useful. All you need to know is that ghosts, demons, hauntings, possession, etc. are real, and some people fight back against the supernatural. Saving people, hunting things...

The available characters are the same as from last GameDay, If you'd care to choose one ahead of time, leave a post with your choice on the GD18 sign-up thread. This can be done when you sign up for my event or in a later post; it doesn't matter to me. Character choice does NOT need to be made ahead of time; in fact, I will be considering all characters available until the actual event; any posts with choices just make it easier for me to assign characters when the time comes.

Keep in mind, these descriptions are how the characters appear in the Roadhouse. Many have secrets, things are not always what they seem, and appearances can be deceiving...

Arlo (Arlene), a burly biker, wanted by the Feds & an expert at hunting werewolves
Ash, a.k.a. "Dr. Badass", resident of the Roadhouse & a computer genius
Bobby Singer, of Singer's Salvage Yard, an expert on demons & the paranormal
Brian O'Boyle, a priest who lost his parish, he now hunts demons
Chris Booker, 23 year old junior hunter, raised by one parent to avenge the others death
Erin (Aaron) Booker, Chris' mother (father), her husband sacrificed himself to save her
Jess Martin, an Army Brat orphan with a mix of hunter-appropriate skills & abilities
Jo Harvelle, Ellen's daughter, determined to follow in her hunter father's footsteps
Jonas (Janelle) LeFleur, a New Orleans Voudon with a unique knowledge of ghosts
KC Carter, quietly driven by revenge, rumor has it KC used to be a cop, years ago
Leanne, a quiet, perceptive woman with uncanny instincts for the paranormal
Missouri Moseley, a psychic from the Winchester's hometown of Lawrence, Kansas
Rivertree, an Indian shaman with unique connections to the spirits of nature

Note that FIVE of these characters are from the show, heh. And six of them are available in both genders, if that ends up mattering.

Eeesh. LONG. Well, it looks long to me, anyway. But if that works for you, Buzz, it works for me. and if it IS too long, I can put the list on my own site and add a link to th event write up, instead.

You could "sblock" parts of it to make it a little shorter...for example:

Hmmmm, you're right, I could.

If I knew that tag. (hey, at least i knew it was a tag!)

But as long as BUZZ knows that tag, issall good. *g*

Yup, tags, gotcha.

Just didn't know "sblock" (as opposed to "cut" or "spoiler" or wutevs. There must be a list of usable tags somewhere, where might that be?)

At the bottom of forum pages, there's a box at the left with a link that says, "vB code is On". It inks to:

http://www.enworld.org/misc.php?do=bbcode

There's also similies listings and IMG tags.

BTW, if any of you have requests for the picture that will accompany your event description, by all means, let me know.

I may shrink the one that HinterWelt posted, though... :)
