I was a hair away from going. I really wish I went now. By the way, George (the coordinator) is awesome.
He is indeed.

Don't fret if you missed this year--next year, Tracy Hickman might come down too! Every year is bigger and better.

I agree. Ever since the loss of Texacon back in the late 80's early 90's, Houston has had a dearth of big cons. Without Owlcon and Comicpalooza, I'd never get from behind the shield and play a PC.

I'm already running a TOEE prequel (rise of the temple, through the Battle of Emridy Meadows, first sacking of the Gatehouse and the sealing of the first Temple). It will be interesting to see Wizards take on it.

I remember something else. Chris said that they are going to be trying out new formatting in adventure layouts. He said that they are going to try something more cohesive then the delve format. Reduce page flipping and all the info needed in one place.

HELLZ YEAH.

Thank God.

Now if only they don't build all the Temple maps with stupid Dungeon Tiles...

In fact, here's how they could use tiles right with the new ToEE prequel: Release tiles that are specifically designed for it instead of making utter crap maps with tiles that don't do the job right.

Reduce page flipping and all the info needed in one place.
Wasn't that precisely the goal of the delve format?!

Then again, what is meant by 'in one place'? Does it mean, the statblock of a monster that appears in multiple encounters will only be printed once? If so, it contradicts the goal of reducing page-flipping...

Chris Perkins wasn't too clear on that. He made it seem that they would be trying out a few different formats, to see which one worked the best in actual play.

I think "in one place" means having the combat information and the non-combat information for any given location grouped together.
