Chromatic Lizardfolk Subraces (updated: 06/19)

Added the green lizardfolk (Emerald Thorns) to the first post. This one is definitely still a "draft", so comments welcome.

Prehnsile tail should add a +4 to climb checks...
I was kinda thinking that the tail was already part of the reason that having a Climb speed is one of the base racial traits. (Climb speed gives +8 racial bonus to Climb, and can take 10 no matter what.) I might make that clearer under the prehensile tail feature with something like: "In addition to aiding in climbing ..."

Another one down - at least as a draft. Dune Swifts (Blue Lizard Folk) have been added to the first post.

At 2nd level, I'm thinking about giving these guys a "sprint" ability, which lets them move 1.5 times their speed for a number of rounds equal 3 + Con Mod once per day. At the end of the sprint, they become fatigued (similar to a barbarian's Rage.)

‘Nuther addition to the first post: Ember Scales (Red Lizardfolk) . I see these guys looking kind of like Godzilla from the american movie version a few years back.

One feature of this subrace’s class is Bonus Feats. I have just a few rough ideas right now, but looking for more. Don’t want any that step on the other subraces’ “specialties” too much.

General Feats
  • [*]Multiattack: only -2 for secondary attack
  • Improved Natural Armor: +1 natural armor
  • Improved Natural Attack: increase natural attack die size
  • Natural Spikes: body is treated as wearing spiked armor
Lizardfolk Feats (Lizardfolk is a prereq.)
  • Tail Swipe: gain tail as secondary attack; d6 bludgeon
-Exotic Weapon Prof (Tail Spikes): gotta work stats for this
  • Reptilian Healing: x2 natural healing
-Reptilian Regeneration heal hit points equal to HD every hour
  • War Horn: gain horn as secondary attack; d6 piercing, double damage on charge

Also still hem-hawing about the sprint idea for the blues...

I'm not sure if I like the "war horn"... more of a fluff reason, I mean... a reptile with a horn? (aside from the chamaleon's horn... which I guess this guys' isn't modeled after)

Maybe I was thinking more along the lines of a ceratosaurus:

Still not liking it... (Actually I've never liked horns on medium and bigger creatures, I just can't picture using it in a way which doesn't get the attacker killed by the guy holding a sword in front of him... no, I don't like horns on minotaurs either)

Maybe it's just a personal bias...

Aside from that, I really like it, and the Powerful Build x2 is somehow balanced by having to take all the ininterrupted 5 levels of the class.
