"Well, you'd be headed southeast from Orussus along the road, eventually passing by our home and continuing onward towards the desert. That is where the enemy are headed."

"Very well, we will use your horses. Irene, i think your pony will keep up with any light horse carrying me."
"Young lad, can you tell us how far it is form here to your home?"

"We're a little more than halfway from Orussus to the desert. I traveled back here by horse, so Anton and his vile gang of misfits will probably be about one third of the way from our home to the desert, or something like that, I guess. That means if you traveled at a light horse's full speed, you could catch them near the desert's edge, according to Lord Larue.."

"It took less than a week. It will take you longer, though, but hopefully not too much longer."

*An old man enters the Red Dragon Inn at this point and heads over towards the gathering group.*

"Excuse me, did I hear that you were all going to be traveling to the desert?"

"Than we should bring enough rations. I will pray the High King for the gift of creating water, so we will not suffer too much from the desert's heat."
When the old man enters poses his question Findoram replies "It seems that we does, why do you ask sir?"

"Well, I have recently heard chilling tales that make me fear for my..."

*The old man is cut off by a woman's voice from the corner of the room, and a smiling woman in her late twenties with long blonde hair and big blue eyes steps out from a spot near the fire:*

"Zarindas? It's been a while. But you've already gotten help, or so I've heard--apparently your daughter is ill? In any case, why not let me have a chance this time?"

"Are you...it can't be..." the old man says quietly, "I fear for little Alyx, considering the rumours I am hearing about that group I sent out."

"She'll be fine. They may be vicious murderers who kill anything in their way, but they do seem to be set on eventually helping you out. What did you offer them."

"As much as my means could afford. 10,000 Gold."

"Ah, well I suppose that explains it. Alyx, eh? Was she named for her mother?"

"Very well, I shall hope for my daughter's safety and take my leave," Zarindas nods and heads for the door

"Thank you Zarindas, always a pleasure," she turns to face the group of five, "Now then, I hope you will help me with my plight, the remedy for which can be found in the very desert you seek. I may not have much, but I can help you find the direction to reach those you already seek, so you can scribe two scrolls with one quill."

It is a long journey then. We will assuredly welcome any help in tracking this madman. Is there a place to resupply before entering the desert? It would be good if we could travel as light as possible and resupply along the way. Do you have your own horse then?

It looks as though we will be taking the three horses and Irene and I will ride ponies with very light load and redistribute some of our gear and provision with horses.

Are we off then?

Eskon stands up and brushes some crumbs off his pants.

"If someone has a horse for me, I'm ready. If not, I can sell a few things and afford a horse. That will take a bit of time, however, so I'd prefer not to."

Findoram adresses the woman "Well if we are already going in that direction i guess it wouldn't be that much trouble to fetch you that plant, though i have no knowledge of herbs, we could use a good description".
After that he speaks to the rest "I will need to buy some rations and then i will be ready to depart."
