The door to the bar swings wide and an elf wearing violet robes steps through. Looking around, he snorts in displeasure. Weaving his way through the tavern, the elf stops before the bar. "Barkeep, i would like a clean bath and a glass of fine elven wine, if your... establishment has such a thing" he barks at Joe. Joe eyes the elf for a moment "Stranger, in this inn it is customary to announce your name and occupation upon entering, if you can do that, i'll see to your request". "Very well innkeep, if i must. My name is Throran, and i am an enchanter of great skill. Now about my bath?" Throran comments as he brushes a microsopic piece of dust off his robe.

Juliana chuckles and looks at Eusebius, "It's humorous how some feel they must proclaim their own greatness. I'd guess most are compensating for something."

"oh pretty lady laugh at elf......what com...pin...sat.. mean valan?" kermis whispers to valan very quietly and lets out a little snicker. then turning back to the card game he considers something he could wager. reaching into his pack pulls forth a plain dagger. "Kermis have little sword here. valan want trade?"

"KERMIS LIKE CURVY SWORD VALAN HAS." the barbarian points repeatedly at the sickle on valans person. he lays down his dagger and draws forth another card, the 8 of clubs, and he sits and waits patiently for valan to draw a card. "HOW PLAY...WAGER?" he asks.

Eusebius smiles.

"It is like the frog which blows itself up, so that it looks threatening in an unknown and potentially dangerous situation. Of course, what they have yet to learn is that stillness and silence are far more intimidating than mere noise."

Then the priest shakes his head and adds wryly, "I have learned something of stillness. The silence, however, still eludes me."

Then Eusebius stands and nods to Juliana. "Now I must go to the Temple of Hyrag. Since the Shining One has called me into his priesthood, I must present myself to the high priest. As soon as I am able, I will return. Until then, lucebat tuum. May he shine on you!"

Seeing euseubius get up and walk away from the bar, Kermis shouts "YOU WANT PLAY TOO?" and holds up his card and dagger waving it enthusiastically at him, he assumed he was joining them.

Valan barks out a laugh Excellent, come over Troran, it's your lucky day. Kermis and I, Valan, were playing a simple game of draw. Now, I'm sure an advanced craftsman such as yourself would not be cowed by such a game.

Turns and noticed the lady for the first time Humorous indeed, but I'm forced to notice you've been a bit quiet since my arrival. Where I have introduced myself at least twice now, you reserve your tounge for those that you find distastefull Valan arches an eyebrow Shall I attempt to find myself on that list to better know you. Valan crosses his fingers over his holy symbol

It means to make up for, like when a smaller man of your tribe yells out how strong he is, when he is not very strong at all, he just wants others to think he is. Keep your little sword, I was thinking a minor bet, a silver or a gold perhaps?

Eusebius turns and bows, says "Not today, I thank you," then walks quietly out the door.

Good luck follower of Hyrag, Good luck.

Valan draws a card from the deck 9 of spades (1d13=9, 1d4=1) to Kermis' 8 o' clubs.
Looks like luck is with me today Valan take their cards and reshuffles So what do you say?

Throran lets the comments wash over him. Turning a sharp eye to Valan, Throran sneers "Well priest, as you cannot even correctly pronounce my name, i highly doubt you have the inteligence to play any game requiring skill.". after the snide remarks Throran goes back to his wine, mumbling to himself something about how much a fool his father is for believing that he will learn anything from thies savages.

ooc- grey elf arrogance, no squish please :P

valan...you want kermis squish elf?" the barbarian whispers quietly. then not seeing an answer forthcoming says "Kermis play one gold with valan." and throws a gold on the floor. waiting for valan to draw the first card as usual.
