"Insulting to us, and counter-productive for his own needs. What a strange man. Are you not tempted to play a game with him?" asks Taelythenihel grimly.

"I hope his game is over. I was wondering if we should begin one of our own... I suppose not. I suppose my money pouch is more important than my pride, to be honest," returns the elf wizard.

"Be patient my friend, time will give us the chance, for now it would be wise to suck this "gentleman" some coins" Ciprinus states in elven.

"I am in agreement," says Taelythenihel. "I do not think we can trust this man's good judgement, but let us at least hear what he wants." She nestles back against her servant's bony shoulder, and looks expectantly at Alvar Thorne.

( OOC: LOL. Nice. Yeah, Payne. Not going to be a happy camper. I'm going to assume there is no need to keep posting in the streetscape then? )

Valdaris is oblivious to the conversation in elven, though he is not particularly interested anyway. Elves were known to be an arrogant race, so it came as no surprise that they now discussed things amongst themselves.

Barely acknowledging Ruuds return, he continues to wait for some kind of response from Thorne.

OOC: There may be something in it yet, TMI. Only 'Nock knows. Though Valdaris dropping was a sensible option. It was starting to look like a lost cause without super speed or cunning, and playing a L1 meat shield amidst a couple of L3 characters does not improve one's odds of survival.
