Elthic grunts. "I'll tell you why. they're discussing secrets - MAGICAL secrets. They probably want to change the colour of their shirts, or something silly like that. Now, if they could use their spells to make this beer taste a little bit more like, you know, BEER, than I'd say they were magical. As it is...."

The dwarf shrugs.

Taelythenihel breaks off her quiet, secretive conversation with Ruud, and laughs a clear bell-like laugh. "I can make your beer taste like sweet elven wine, or honey mead, or porridge, for that matter, but it will yet remain beer. I could make the attempt to improve it, if you wish? But let me finish here first."

Kol Axbjorn
"Meh! I have had my taste of Magicks. Recently too! I much prefer the taste of watered ale then a misfired spell. Of course this caster is much comelier then the pug nosed orcblood that tried to kill me." he turned to the dwarf. "I did not know the tongue of the Lizards was also a magickal one."

"I believe there was a compliment hidden in there for me," says Taelythenihel. "Lizardfolk speak a crude version of this language, the native tongue of darastrix, the dragons. If truth be told, most wizards, myself included, speak it imperfectly."
"Wux ocuir, Ruud, throden munthrek arilevethixarcaniss osvith! Thric arimartivir mrith pothoc!" [sblock=Draconic]"You see, Ruud, how many people fear the wizard's magic! I get no peace from the fools."[/sblock]

"Mrith Ruud irthos ghoros ir levexbaeshra?" says Taelythenihel, continuing in Draconic,

Ruud thinks this over for a few moments as the woman converses with the beer drinkers. When she is done he says, "Sifvered kdfaed, donodon derwzl sinins serz cewl led led. Rededa ven se dom xiw dom. Tri beststa, tepezaa sommon frerre?"

[sblock=Draconic]"It is a simple ritual, although one that requires some expensive material costs. I've never heard of it going wrong though. If I may ask, what was called?"[/sblock]

Ruud smiles and responds quietly in Draconic, just in case anyone else speaks it, "Nidrac. Ertiiceredc adde deasstrrer skippoo swess?"

[sblock=Draconic]"Simpletons. What do swords and bows measure up to the arcane arts?" [/sblock]

Taelythenihel indicates her servant, who stands silently behind her. "She is not a weasel," she says, in Common.

Ruud looks at the woman for a moment before responding in Common, "Indeed she is not. However, looks can be deceiving. Not to say that she is a weasel, but she may not be what she appears to be either."

"A question, I, as an elf, often asked myself, as I was taught to use both longsword and longbow in my childhood, a hundred years ago and more. I have scarcely touched either in decades."

"Renthisj darastrix!" says Taelythenihel. "Eorikc ghoros, loex kear ethivacaesin-aesthyr..." A rapid string of Draconic follows, in the middle of which she smiles sadly.
[sblock=Draconic] "Speak Draconic! It was a year ago, on the anniversary of my mother's death, fifty years before. Her loss and the loss of my father lay heavy on my mind. I was alone and lonely. I bethought myself of the ritual that would call to me a wizard's familiar, to be my companion and friend. I desired an ermine, a weasel as white as snow, or bone. But instead, when I stirred from trance the next morning, no ermine familiar had come. Instead there was Ossa, standing outside the casement of my rooms, her face, such as it is, pressed against the glass. I was frightened, but I soon perceived that she meant me no harm. She has followed me since, as a faithful servant, and does my bidding without complaint."[/sblock]
