"It is, apparently, though I have been turned down for one opportunity." Taelythenihel indicates Ossa again. "Perhaps unsurprisingly. I do not think you have anything to worry about on that account. It seems to be an exceedingly rare mishap, perhaps unique in Enworld."
[sblock=Silent speech, direct to Ruud]"I know she... it... is an undead abomination, but despite myself I grow fond of her, in a way. It is difficult to think of her as anything other than a person, at times. And she is useful. She does not need sleep or sustenance. She can guard me while I rest. Although... I suppose I would not need so much guarding if she were not with me."[/sblock]

Upon seeing Richard raise his glass he approached the man. "Good to see you...Richard was it." He grasps the man's arm in a freindly greeting. After ordering a drink he took on a more quiet tone.
"Why in hellfire is everyone babbling in Lizard Man??" he asked in a whisper.
Shaking his head, Richard has been watching the exchange with a raised eyebrow himself. "Aye, tis Richard, and welcome back to the RDI."

Kol Axbjorn"Meh! I have had my taste of Magicks. Recently too! I much prefer the taste of watered ale then a misfired spell . . .
Ordering for Kol, Richard hands the big man a deep dark ale. "Take some of this Stout... tis not heavy by Dwarf standards, but their idea of heavy is to mix rocks inta their drinks, right Elthic?" Richard finishes this statement with a small laugh and smile at the gruff Dwarf.

"So what tales of deeds done? Any successful ventures about?"
"Rinya has the truth of it, though we met first by hanging around town and getting bored to sleep by a local street gang and their pet peacock of a mage." Turning towards Rinya, Richard narrows his eyes, "Did we clear up that little hen's attitude or do ya think he's still here and about?"

"HA! I'd forgotten all about that little pansy. If he knows what's good for him we won't see him again. He called me 'stroppy.' Me! Of all people! I'd like nothing better than to snatch that floppy hat off of his stupid head and shove it down his throat!"

Turning to Kol and Rowan, Richard tries to put an innocent look upon his face as he quietly laughs, "So you don't quite recall what became of him then?" Suppressing outright laughter, Richard gets a faraway look upon his broadly smiling face. "Yeah, that little peacock put me to sleep with a spell... I'd pay good money to see him eat that feather.

In the silence that follows the young warrior looks around, wondering what will come next in this strange place... in these times preceding the great evill.

"Aye..I myself was put to sleep by some sort of Rainbow spell. Though methinks if such a weird came at me again I could weather its effects for having felt them before." he drained another ale before speaking again.
"So how many here altogether is looking for work? I have learned from experience that it is best to bring a healer and perhaps a cook." he laughed "Both rolled into one was very convenient."

Ruud and Taelythenihel, and Ossa, remain in silence for a while, until the elf says "I did not ask. Have you decided what creature you will call to be your familiar?"

Ruud nods and says to himself as much to anyone else, "Yes, Perant's Perturbing Prism. A very handy spell for disabling an enemy."

Ruud shrugs, "I'm not sure to tell you the truth. The lack of funds means that I haven't allowed myself to give it too much thought."

Taelythenihel frowns. "I am not familiar with such a spell. Perhaps under another name? I would, of course, suggest a weasel as a familiar. I do not understand those wizards who choose something cold and naturally unresponsive, such as a toad."[sblock=Silent, direct to Ruud]"I appreciate the personal irony."[/sblock]

Ruud gives a hardy laugh at the joke even if it wasn't intended as one. He watches the door to see who else is going to enter. "I believe the spell they're speaking of is one of the illusion school. Its more common name is usually referred to as Spray of Color."
