Civilization boardgame: Worth it?

I wonder how possible it would be to play a game of the old civ via an online medium of some sort...? :)

I guess the 60 dollar price tag is certainly a turn off.

Ask yourself this: do you have enough friends who would be willing to play every once in awhile and do the friends enjoy strategy/diplomacy games?

If it's the old Avalon Hill Civilization, buy it. And get the Advanced Civilization expansion. It's more fun with a large number of people, but be prepared to spend the better part of a day playing. As in start at 9am, play, break for lunch, resume play, break for dinner, end play at about 9pm or so.

I've never played the Sid version, so I can't comment on it.

Would love to do this - I have PC version of the AH game (Advanced Civilization), and it has PBEM client - but I'm sure it's way ot of print.

Otherwise, it could be done with photoshop, but you'd need a neutral human GM to run the trading sessions fairly.
