I don't think this has been answered yet, but how exactly do class templates work? And without breaking any of the board copyright rules, can you post an example monster modified using a class template?

This is an example of what one of them gets.

bonus to defenses, saving throws
action point
hit points per level / Hit points formula
2 powers

They then become a specific type of encounter or type like

Elite solder | xp Elite

here is a list of Templates

Battle champion
Bodyguard
Death knight
Death master
Demagogue
Demonic acolyte
Devastator
Feyborn
Frost adept
Lich
Mummy lord
Mummy champion
Savage berserker
Scion of flame
Shadowborn stalker
Vampire lord

It specifically says these are not for pc, but i was skimming.

hopefully this is aloud.

A class template turns a monster into an elite, just like the regular templates. You gain some of the class' built-in abilities, HP, defenses, skills, & proficiencies (which is why there's a different template for each class), along with 1 at-will, 1 encounter (2 if paragon), 1 daily (2 if epic), and 1 utility (2 if paragon, 3 if epic). All powers have to be the monster's level or lower, and must be different levels. So a level 17 monster couldn't get two lvl 17 encounter powers; one power could be lvl 17 and the other would be lvl 13 or lower.

I think the current crowning achievement of the template was the creation of a dire bear death knight.

Of course, nobody would even know it's a bear without a DC 20 nature check.

...These forums DO need a .

Next step: complaining about ECLs.
