I'm still waiting for them to publish a spell that will allow me to make use of my d7.

Someday, baby... someday...
DCC RPG is the game for you! It uses d5s, d7s, d14s, d16s, and I think d30s as part of its base mechanics.

You forgot to also mention that it makes d3s a pretty commonly used die.

Though the odd die size usage isn't likely to be enough of a "win" to make the game worth playing if it's other primary elements of being intentionally over-the-top (I rolled a spell crit and unwrote all the enemies in an encounter from existance, and what have you) and extremely simple (you pick your class, you choose what equipment to use, and there is no other mechanical choice points for character customization in the base game) aren't things you count among the "pro" list.

I'd also noticed that feature of this particular spell, and then realized the only other well-known acid spell (Acid Arrow) also uses d4's, so perhaps that's to become a regular thing with acid damage?

Lan-"it ain't a good game until you've used every die in the bag"-efan

I'm sure that's true, I don't own it or anything. Most of the online chatter about it was divided among "Fighter Heroic Deeds are cool", "The spell system is crazy (crazy good/crazy bad both)", and "Screw these dice requirements".
