Dice porn can be a problem. That is why I prefer [...] keeping hits points reasonable so you don't have to break out the dice bag to kill someone.
Yeah, killing someone with a dice bag is a pretty slow process. Even if it's chock full of dice you're only gonna get what, d2 damage per successful hit?

What's everyone's dice maximum= the amount of dice rolled at once that feels cool, but anymore gets to be a pain.
As many as I can hold in my hands at once, as it almost always means I'm bringin' just that much more hurt to the scene. :)

Yeah agreed.

Mine's 4.

As a Champions players, I loved the feel of doing a haymaker with a full strength attack and rolling 30d6 for damage and figuring out knockback (usually about 200 feet or so).

I don't think I have a dice maximum.

Does anyone use a dice rolling app (on an iThing, for example) at the table when faced with the need to roll a lot of dice?

I ask because, well... I'm lazy and I wouldn't want to count 30d6.

I have Prime Dice on my tablet, to use if I for some reason don't have dice at hand.

For game prep or general nerdiness, never during the game.

Using too many darn d4s! :)

Vitriolic Sphere
4th-level evocation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 150 feet
Components: V, S, M (a drop of giant slug bile)
Duration: Instantaneous
You point at a place within range, and a glowing 1-foot ball of emerald acid streaks there and explodes in a
20-foot radius. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature
takes 10d4 acid damage and 5d4 acid damage at the end of its next turn. On a successful save, a creature takes
half the initial damage and no damage at the end of its next turn.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the initial damage
increases by 2d4 for each slot level above 4th.

Off topic, but vitriolic sphere is a nasty spell. If a target fails the save and is dropped to zero by the initial damage, they'll automatically have one death save failure when the secondary damage kicks in the next round. Nearly killed a couple PCs that way...:-S

The greatest design flaw, Spells.

Examples: The cantrip Friends targets all creatures for 1 minute or broken concentration.

1st level Charm Person only works on humanoids. It contains the same target wants revenge after stuff.

Color Spray 1st level targets all in a 15ft cone. 2nd level Blindness/Deafness targets 1+1 per slot. Deafness is near worthless. Perhaps if you add Muteness so casters can't verbalize spells.

Auto damage is terrible unless the target is helpless.

We remember the cut and paste of spells from previous editions during the playtest.
