Clip art of architecture

First Post
Now that Urbis is gradually taking shape and that I am seriously considering publication, it occurred to me that I need some art for it. Given that the focus of Urbis is on big cities, clip art of architecture would be especially useful.

So, does anyone here know of any clip art collection (the kind that can legally be used in publications) that focuses on architecture? I'm especially interested in architecture of the period from the Renaissance to the Industrial Age...

Hi Jurgen,

I've got one book: Clip Art Book of Designs by Dorothy Bosomworth c1995

It doesn't have full buildings, but it has great pictures of lots of architectural details like columns, statuary, tile floor patterns, as well as lots of non-architectural art. It's a very handy book and all copyright free.

Another book that I had but someone stole (bastard!) contained all the engravings from an 1800s German encyclopedia. All copyright free. It had an extensive architecture section, with lots of full views of famous buildings. Also had some great maps of cities at the time, many with fortifications. Extensive naval section and interesting botanical and animal sections. Very cool book. Wish I still had mine.

Most clip art books that deal with architecture are usually dealing with ornament and architectural details rather than full buildings

Hope that helps.
