Yupp but still not that much worse than the good old stinking cloud if you use it in enclosed environments like... let me think... a dungeon ;)?

Besides being impolite: I just want to point out the problem here is not the spell. In fact, I don´t see any problem.

I'd say the four-cube version is exactly as good as stinking cloud, and the only problem is that his player has figured out how to get access to it one spell level early.

But with the feat cost, it's his only trick.

I would probably allow it as being very clever... but then, I probably wouldn't have allowed the metamagic feat and the metamagic reduction feat in the first places. :)
