Clubhouse: The Shearing Pen

Heh - even I'm getting tired of ole' force breath. I think Gansk & PJS have a count of remaining critters. If you're into running one of the teams do let them know - we're doubling up a lot at this point.

Wow...spectators. :)

Wow Mippadon, you honor us with your first post! :)

Chaotic Evil still outnumbers Lawful Good by a wide margin, 44 creatures to 6. Suffice it to say that each lineup has their share of dragons. ;)

There's the scoreboard thread, which gives you an idea of numbers but not the individual creatures.

If I read that correctly, as NG I would need for my current combatant (Jurathor) to kill 17 opponents without losing to get back to even-up with NE. And actually, that's quite promising - though every fight from here on is going to be harder and harder for NG.

Wow, it was? I've been lurking at EN World for such a long time I'd figured I'd posted at least once before ;)

I took a look at the scoreboard, but I can't really figure it out in the context of things. For instance, CG is 38-2-1 ( ) but they're still at -29 for bouts - does that mean they currently have 29 less critters in reserve than LE? And gee, isn't it amazing that the average fight length over all arenas (arenae?) is between 5.0 and 5.6? That's got to be statistically significant...

Also, what is the significane of sac%?

From the peanut gallery, there does seem to be too many dragons, or fliers in general... it'd be nice to be able to see a demonic elephant do something other than lumber, trunk down, out of the arena. But don't ask me how to fix that, I'm just here to enjoy the action :)

The bouts number basically means what you think - CG needs to kill 29 critters to be even with LE. Everytime CG moves up a CR level, I reevaluate the number (LE may have more critters than CG at the new CR, so CG will fall behind again.)

Sac% is the percentage of the alignment's roster that has been 'sacrificed' - either lost or was teleported from the arena because of a draw. LE started the battle against CG with 101 creatures, so everytime one loses, they sacrifice only 1% of their roster. CG started with only 20 creatures, but have only lost 3 so far, or 15%.

The fact that a draw occurs after 5 rounds have passed with no damage to either combatant has influenced the average fight length to a degree, but otherwise they are remarkably similar. I guess it is the law of averages? (Is there such a thing?)

You've joined us at a point where the CR's are higher and flying or a ranged attack is almost a prerequisite to doing something in the battle. Some of us remember the good old days when a baboon could charge some poor 6 hp critter and kill it in one round! :)

Amen. I wish I could think of a way, too.

Hello all,

I am taking the children with me to Croatia and leaving on Tuesday, June 20. We will be gone until Sunday, July 9. I might have chances to check on TBoAA, but I will not be able to do any moderating. Have fun in TBoAA while I am gone.

Someone can take over for Lawful Neutral in the ToC for me. One request regarding that is try to take something other than a dragon.

New question that I couldn't find an answer to in a skim-read of the Rules: I believe we said we were using the expansions to the Summon Monsters list in books such as BoED, right? Are combatants restricted to summoning targets equal to their alignment, one step removed, non-opposed, or what?
