CN vs. N: Chaotic Neutral Victorious!

OOC: Alas, I don't have FF, MMIII, LoM, Planar HB, or Mini HB. I have all the rest though (just picked up EPH, Frostburn, and Sandstorm on Sat.). Swap?

Round 174

What appears to be a human with a feral gleam in his eyes moves to 60N25E. He has no armor and no weapons, except for a rock in his hand, which he throws. It falls harmlessly in front of the lizard. (Rolled 6-6 for long range = 0)

Manny the Monitor considers whether to use his impressive hiding ability. After a few nanoseconds of thought, he decides instead to just go for the kill. He roars, as only monitor lizards can roar, and charges in to bite the stupid feral human's head off.

Sensing the impending bloodshed, several viewers in the crowd, who are currently eating dinner, turn their heads away.

Round 175

The lizard charges to 60N30E, but the bite bounces off the human's tough hide! (Rolled 10+2 for charge = 12)

Chewbaccy goes into a rage and scratches Manny with his apparently long nails. (Rolled 21 & 21) Manny takes 16 points of damage and then Chewbaccy grabs on and rips Manny open for another 12 points of rending damage! Manny wishes Moe or Jack fought in his place, while Chewbaccy enters the Hall of Fame! :)

Round 176: Manny is defeated!

Next up for N: a wolverine. (MM)

The wolverine goes first in round 176.

Slightly more intelligent that his predecessor, Logan will move cautiously into the arena to 60N60E (not a run). Unless he's already in combat, Logan will charge his opponent down and rip him to shreds.

OOC: Wow. I might have to go get me the FF and MMIII after seeing that.

Several spectators (no, not the creatures) who have popped-in from Avernus roar their approval at the bloodshed...then order more blood gravy for their roast beast, and another round of Bloody Malbolge's* to drink.
*the fiendishly good hangover cure

Round 176

Chewbaccy charges to 60N55E and exudes more blood with his claw. (Rolled 20+2 for charge = 22) 7 points of damage! The wolverine has 21 hp left.

Round 177: Logan goes into a rage. The crowd is stunned, as if they are watching a Van Damme movie or a Thai rooster fight (same thing).

Logan claws and bites for 12 total. Chewbaccy has 3 hp left.

Chewbaccy claws twice for 13 and rends for 9 more. Logan has 5 hp left.

Round 178: Logan claws twice for 12. Chewbaccy's bloody body is teleported away!

Next up for CN: a maanvaki (WotC website)

The maanvaki goes next in round 178.

The CN crowd cheers for the mighty Chewbaccy as a long-armed, long-legged humanoid moves slowly into the arena to 60N15E. *It has a thick neck and a huge crocodilian snout. Bulbous eyes like a frog's protrude from its face, and it possesses great, winglike ears. Its skin is predominantly green with brown splotches and stripes, and thick scales and armor plating cover its chest and back. Numerous loose folds of skin hang down from the chin and arms.

Cobol, the creature from the Black Lagoon, looks around for the pool of water he was promised and grunts in dismay at all the dirt and stone walls. He shakes a webbed fist at the open area behind him and speaks in draconic, "You promised me water!" He then points at the first floor and says, "There's not even any plantlife!"

Grimly, Cobol turns back to his adversary and sets his spear for the expected charge.

* OOC: Taken verbatim from the description. I won't even attempt to paraphrase. If you can even picture this thing, then you have a better imagination than me. ;)

Round 179:

The wolverine charges to 60N20E. Cobol skewers him with the spear! (Rolled 19)

22 points of damage! Logan is no more!

A swarm of wasps flies to 60N15E and stings Cobol for 3 points of damage. He has 12 hp left.

Cobol resists the sting's poison! (Rolled 20 Fort save)

Cobol goes first in round 180. He is distracted by the wasps. (Rolled 7 Fort save)

OOC: (1) No AoO for the swarm entering my square? (2) Does the swarm do piercing damage? (3) Holy crap is that swarm fast. 105ft Spd? Or did it charge?

In any case, Cobol will find out soon enough that the best he can hope for is a draw, not being able to damage the swarm. When and if possible, he would merely go on total defense, staying still.
