CN vs. N: Chaotic Neutral Victorious!

Lothar hits three times and gores his own greatclub. (Rolled natural 1) Nelson takes 92 and has 41 hp left.

Round 744: Nelson hits for 38-30=8. Lothar has 119 hp left.

Lothar hits twice for 61. Nelson is dead.

Next for CN in round 744: a young howling dragon. (Draconomicon)

OOC: We forgot about the solid fogs, so Lothar is at 100N25E instead of 60N25E.

OOC1: We may have forgotten about the fogs, but that was a refreshing, uncomplicated combat. :)

Once skills, feats, and magical items are rolled up, Eddie Quist will join the fray. Just curious, though, are you sure he's Young and not Juvenile? I hate to think you got your CN CR's out of order. :)

OOC2: The hemispherical wall of ice still exists, too, right? With a hole in the top towards the southwest?

It is young (CR 10). Juvenile is CR 12, which CN has not reached yet. For purposes of TBoAA, we are using the CRs as listed in the back of the Draconomicon instead of the CRs as listed in the dragons' entries. We would never get our CN CRs out of order, because we know how much howling there would be from them. ;)

OOC: Have I mentioned how much I love to run battles in the Limbo Arena? Thanks for reminding me about the fogs.

Eddie Quist has 17 ranks in the skills Diplomacy, Escape Artist, Intimidate, Knowledge (architecture, nobility), Listen, Search, and Spot. He has 9 ranks in Use Magic Device.

Eddie has the feats Alertness, Flyby Attack, Hover, Improved Speed, Power Attack, and Weapon Focus (claw).

Eddie enters at 65N0E (or so) and flies northeast at a 45 degree up-bubble, ending up at 95N25E40Z and then breathes Sam Kinnison down atop Lothar. "You dirty lying (female dog)! Ahhh!"

OOC: That table must be in error. There's no way a howling dragon is the equivalent of a gold dragon and, in some cases, better. It doesn't even get spells! When a conflict occurs, the stat block has precedence over the text and the text has it over the table. No big deal, however, as I don't want you to have to redo your lists. Expect the howling dragons to do poorly, but I guess we'll see how they turn out.

OOC: Yeah, but, its extraplanar and is immune to sonic attacks, without any energy vulnerabilities. :p I know that does not explain it, but I had to say something.

Lothar is so shocked that something is louder and more obnoxious than him that he does not dodge the blast of sound (16 Ref save), taking 39 points of sonic damage. Eddie can breathe again in round 746. Lothar has 80 HP remaining.

Round 745

Lothar's head changes so that it no longer looks like a boar's head, although it is probably uglier. Lothar puts away his club.

Lothar only has the one rock that he already threw, right? Can Eddie (played by Robert Picardo, btw -- yes the Emergency Medical Program on Voyager) see where it went as he was watching the previous fight? If so and it's within range, he'll hover and cast shatter at the rock. If so and it's not within range, he'll use flyby attack to cast shatter above the rock and then end up where he started. If not, he'll hover and drop a sound burst on Lothar.

You say that as if I would not know who Robert Picardo is.

No, Lothar has a bag of rocks, like the giant he is. The rock in question is at 100N0E.

I am not sure of your move, given your incorrect assumption.

Hey, why does Lothar get a whole bag of rocks but creatures with a javelin attack get only one? How unfair is that? Oh wait, this isn't Celestia.

Given this new information, which I quite honestly didn't know and this should explain my original tactics with Lothar, Eddie will hover in place and drop a sound burst on the ugly dude.

Because in giants' texts it states how many rocks they get. That is not true for most other creatures with thrown weapons, and the default for such items is one per customer (arrows and bolts have a default of 20).

Lothar takes 6 points of sonic damage, but laughs at the stunning effect (29 Fort save). Lothar has 74 HP remaining.

Round 746

Lothar takes a rock out of his bag and hurls it at Eddie, but the rock bounces off Eddie's scales (rolled 18) and lands at 105N25E, virtually intact.

You can stop identifying the squares for the giant's rocks on my account. I had planned to shatter the rock if it was Lothar's only one.

Eddie breathes another blast of sonic jumbledygook.
