(CoC) The Snake Pit

Eugene examines the documents minutely.

"Hmm... nothing in here is mine, per se, but it does resemble some rather ancient texts I once uncovered. Except the ones I uncovered were from the seventeeth century, about some demon that lived in the water. The text was about how to harness the demon's power, typical of the period, people trying to get ahead in any way they can. Though how on earth these patients managed to write down translated fragments of that text is beyond me!" Eugene says with a bit of alarm.

"The patients' psychosis may very well have been stimulated by the good Dr. Wilson," Adon slowly rubs his short, neatly trimmed white beard. "Three escapees, two confirmed drownings, and a mythical 17th century water demon. What terrible traumas did Dr. Wilson inflict on his patients? Did those escaped inmates drown themselves driven by delusions instilled by Dr. Wilson? That may also explain the high number of lobotomies - Dr. Wilson ministerings created more discord than harmony." Adon rises slowly and walks around the room, head down, half conversing with himself and those in the room. "I wonder if any of Dr. Wilson's personal belongings are still intact at the old asylum. I wonder if any of his personal effects are with any family members. And Charles Xavier...is he still alive?"

"Quor'leth the Heartless, it was called...", Agatha intones coldly, almost as if another speaks through her lips. Her eyes are closed and her body completely still and pale. "The demon called to those who sought its power, pulling them to its dark and sacred bower, beneath the waves. There, it promised them power and eternal life; a promise that was always made true only with dessication, death, and a watery grave..."

"Well, there's one way to find out about anything at the old asylum. Go there, and see for yourself. Agatha, please dearheart, calm yourself, shh, shh... I need you to be strong. You won't be going near the water, you won't. I need you to take everyone here to the old asylum. I know you... lived around there a while back," Eugene says.

Agatha seems to snap back to reality at Eugene's words and she wipes the tears from the corners of her eyes. For the most part, it seems that she is "her old self" again; then again, it is somewhat difficult to really tell that for sure. She smiles wanly, "Y...yes, Doctor, I can do that. Mayhaps I will get to see my beloved Moonchild while we are out and about." Her smile brightens somewhat at this thought and she makes ready to leave...

Adon stares at Agatha in mute surprise. His small mouth opens slightly as if to speak, burning questions urging him on. Quickly he clamps his mouth shut, the memory of Agatha's recent delirium to harsh for Adon's soft heart. He smiles a small, but warm smile at Agatha.

"Yes. Yes, Eugene. I would like to see the old asylum and what information and stories it can provide," Adon says slowly. "What say the rest of you? Up for a little stroll through the old asylum?"

OOC: What time of day is it? What day of the week? I am thinking about Adon's committment to the University.

OOC - It's about a half-hour's walk away from the new asylum, approximately. You'll need some light to explore it though if you're going tonight, it's dark already.

"Well, unless we are all up for some nocturnal activities, I suggest we check out the old asylum first thing tomorrow," Adon says. "I am afraid rummaging around in old ruins in the dark could be quite disastrous for someone my age." Adon smiles.
