Combining D&D, SW, SpyCraft, Dragonstar, WoT, Rokugan, etc...

Dude, if you are going to go through all this work, I can't stress enough that it would be easier to go with a d20 supers game and just do some coversions.

Heck, MnM even had a sidebar for converting the game back into Hit Points, so that you can still use your weapons stats out of your other d20 books. I also think Silver Age Sentinels d20 still uses hit points.

Thanks a lot for the replies everyone. It's given me a lot of stuff to think about. A few replies of my own:

Severion, why change healing spells from d8 to d4? I don't see it...

Its just what i would do in a VP/WP system if the healing goes toward WP. YMMV

A few suggestions (most of them compatible) for using WP/VP:
• healing spells cure the normal amount of VP and only 1 Wp per die
• critical go to WP (as in Star Wars); surprise attacks go directly to WP (?); sneak attacks go to VP but always do 1 point of WP per bonus die
• energy attacks (spells, explosions…) do VP damage, except on a failed save; then, they still go to VP but do 1 WP damage per die
• VP "heal" at a ratio of 1 x level per minute
• if critical damage goes to WP (as in Star Wars), then armor counts as DR (but not for VP, which is obviously "near misses" and fatigue…)
• if armor rating as DR seems too high, perhaps half armor rating as DR(or leather 1, chain 2, plate 3?)
• the character chooses either Defense or Armor Class (with Armor compatibility for warriors classes, as in WoT)
