So, how many regular comic readers are there around here?

Well, this week amongst other things I picked up JLA #66 and ASM #41.

As always JMS is pretty damn amazing and I'm always left wanting the next issue right away. Should be very interesting to see the MJ and Peter meeting.

JLA #66 - the first couple of stories by Kelly along with an artist that isnt that inspiring had gotten me think about dropping the title - but this story I really enjoyed and I'm keen to see how it continues.

It had been a while since I last read a comic, but I have been enjoying "Hellboy" lately.

I had no idea that there were so many online "Hellboy" comics.
I plan on picking up this one next time I'm at my FLGS/Comic store

The occult/supernatural aspects remind me a bit of "Hellblazer" (another one of my favorites).

I also enjoyed reading the Sandman series.

I don't read anything current. I'm going back to the classics with e Marvel Essential books. I've gone through the Essental Spederman, X-men, Silver Surfer, Iron Man, and Thor. It's been cool to read about the starts of these classic heroes and get to read all their stories in order from the beginning.

I buy way too many comic books. I'll be dropping some as soon as current storylines end (mostly all the mutant stuff). The ones I consistently look forward to, and am rarely disappointed with, are all the Crossgen Comics. They are all very well done and cover several different genres.

Sandman was very cool. The only comic I read now is Knights of the Dinner Table.

I love "Hellboy". Great comic book. Mike Mignola is awesome.

Lately I also read "Blade of the Immortal". Awesome series.

The DC and Marvel stuff is just boring now a days. I usually stay away from all that stuff. Although "Ultimates" (from Marvel) started off pretty friggin cool, its latest issue shows a steep decline in quality. The coloring was horrible (fill in colorist Paul Mounts) and the writing was extremely awful.

I was a huge "G.I.Joe" fan back when Larry Hama was writing it. So I gave the "G.I. Joe" book a try. However, I was very disappointed. Bad writing, mediocre art. If I was going to re-do a new "G.I. Joe" book, I'd try to get enough funding so I can hire Larry Hama to write it again and have Micheal Golden draw it. One of my most favorite works from Golden was on "G.I.Joe Yearbook" Issue 2.

Being a Dungeons&Dragons fan I tried to read CrossGen's "Sojourn", but found it ho-hum. Nothing particularly imaginative being done in that book. So I don't pick it up anymore.

Generally speaking I would probably agree. I pretty much mainly follow a few fave writers (of which Kurt Busiek and JMS are 2). Until JMS started his ASM run, the only thing from Marvel I was reading was Avengers. Now its Avengers and ASM, although I'll probably be reading 2 Spidey titles once JMS moves on to Spiderman and Kevin Smith takes up ASM. I havent really read any of Smiths comic writings (aside from a cople of his movie spin-offs), but I'm a fan of his script writing, so I'll be giving it a try. The Order has been interesting too.

As for DC, I'm currently only reading JLA and with Waid having left my enthusiasm has started to waver (although I did enjoy the current issue).

I'm really not a fan of any of the Ultimates universe (I like the original characters and their histories rather than rebooted versions - reminds me of the Heroes reborn thing) - I'd rather see Marvel put their talent into their core titles (which seems to be happening, at least with Spiderman).

I'm quite enjoying Sojourn. It isnt original by any stretch, but I am enjoying it. Same with the Kenzerco D&D comics.

I do read a fair amount of other comics...like the 2 JMS Top Cow titles (Rising Stars & Midnight Nation); Buffy & Angel; plus a few 'humour' titles like KOTD, Nodwick, PvP and the like.

I got sick of the advertisements and writer changes in Marvel comics, so I haven't got any of them in the last couple of years, except for a couple of Essentials.

Bone is still my favorite book. I also read Powers, Midnight Nation, Rising Stars, Amazing Spider-man, all the Ultimate Marvel books, Spider-man Blue, I'll be getting the Kevin Smith Spidey book when it comes out and I haven't decide whether to stop getting Felon and Fathom or not yet.
