I liked the Lilith myth for VtM, although none of those little chapbooks held a candle to the awesome MtA one.

Frankensteins and Tammuz are great, but then we've got three types of Promethean that are just reanimated corpses? They seem a lot less like newly-created beings than just ordinary undead types. At least the Frankensteins are made from multiple corpses, and thus can't consider themselves the continuations of specific individuals. I cannot understand why Galateids aren't animated statues. And where the hell is the homunculus lineage?
Aw, now that's more like it. I've got to check that out. Know which book it was?Benben said:One of the supplements for Promethean covers alternate construction materials for all of the lineages, which does include Glateids made from statues.
But aside from the Kuejin the Caine myth was universal (and the kuejin were distinctly not the same supernatural race as Cainites.). Nobody had an alternate theory that held any water. Camarilla, Sabbat, Inconnu, Anarchs... all of them had at least lipservice belief in the Cain myth. Even the Lilith believers only went off a tangent of Cain.Vocenoctum said:I will disagree that you couldn't get around the Cain myth. It was the central myth of the story, but there was no proof for it except that "auntie ante told us". Kindred of the East seemed to work around Cain easily enough. Even "generation" is not regimented, because there is no way to know what the absolute top of the pyramid is. (the system basically broke down at 3rd generation.)
Doesn't mean that a focus on the history and mystery of the vampiric race isn't a going concern just because a few people got a little fuzzy in nap time. History is probably even MORE of a big deal in Requiem than Masquerade because it is so easily lost that it becomes vitally precious to hold onto.painandgreed said:I beleive I quit buying their books before that ever came out.

Benben said:The "Kindred" of the East were risen ghosts more than vampires in the Cainite tradition. Comparing the two is hardly fair.
Benben said:And speaking of supplements, WW did a fantastic job of covering all they needed to with the supplements for Promethean. The supplements hold nothing back when addressing setting, story, and mechanical questions.
You can never have enough Lilith.Whizbang Dustyboots said:I liked the Lilith myth for VtM, although none of those little chapbooks held a candle to the awesome MtA one.
