[Complete Mage] Lyric Thaumaturge Bonus Spells. Is this correct?

Am I reading this correctly?

Bonus Spell (At 1st level gain an additional 1st or 2nd level bard spell slot, gain an additional 3rd or 4th slot at 4th level, gain a 5th level slot at 7th level, gain a 6th level slot at 10th level) grants extra Bard spells known.

Spell Secret (Gain more spells known from Sorceror/Wizard spell list, gain a 1st or 2nd level spell known at 3rd level, a 3rd or 4th level spell at 6th level, and a 5th or 6th level spell at 9th level) grants extra Corceror/Wizard spells known (cast as Bard, of course)?

So that a 6th level Lyric Thaumaturge would have 4 bonus spells:

1. A level 1 or 2 Bard spell taken at 1st level
2. A level 1 or 2 Sorcer/Wizard spell taken at 3rd level
3. A level 3 or 4 Bard spell taken at 4th level
4. A level 3 or 4 Sorceror /Wizard spell talen at 6th level.

Each of those expands only spells known, not number than can be cast.

Right? Just to be sure.

(Hmmm... laying al this out along with his other bonuses, it seems he gets something at every level but 8th. Did I miss the 8th level ability or is there none?)

It's probably a silly question, but I cannot look at the class right now as I used a shared book for that.

I've got the book open in fornt of me and I see as the benefits:

Bard spell increase every level.
By tenth level one bonus spell slot for each level.
By ninth level one bonus spell known from the sorceror/wizard list.

And the quite nice sonic might.

So basically you lose

Bardic knowledge
Improvements to insire and other bardic musics.

Looks like a balanced class, a bit better of a caster espeically if you take direct damage spells with thsoe bonues spells) and a bit worse at bardic music.

Could be fun to play.

The biggest loss in this regard is the fascinate, Suggestion combo you'll get at 6th level Bard. As long as you get this ability before you go L-T, you'll be fine.

Thanks for checking on this for me. Isn't it a bonus First or Second level spell, Third or Fourth level spell, Fifth level spell and Sixth level spell for a total of four bonus Bard spells known?

Plus a Bonus Feat (Captivating Melody) and Sonic Might, giving one bonus of one type or other at every level except 8th, right?

Just trying to get it right as I put it into PCGen so I can print out proper character sheets. Thanks for your help.

I don't have the book, but from what you posted, the "Bonus Spell" ability grants extra bard spell slots (ie Spells Per Day), not spells known.

So the 1st level ability lets you cast Charm Person or Sleep once more per day, while the 3rd level ability lets you include Magic Missile in your list of 1st level spells known.

By golly, you're right.

I missed that.

One of the prerequisites is 9 ranks in a Perform skill, so you have to be sixth level before entering anyway. So, 99% of Lyric Thaumaturge's will be Bard 6 first.

Nope. In every case it's and not or. So a 10th level LT has an extra slot per day of all 6 levels, and adds six (one of each level) sor/wiz spells to spells known.

That's great news. I don't know how I got that wrong.

Very cool.
