Conan - Converting D20 Material Over

Hi folks,

I was looking for some tips on converting D20 (and D&D 3.5) material over to Mongoose's Conan system - namely races and monsters, but haven't been able to find any guidelines online.

Do any of you have any links or tips that might help me ?

Thanks.

You can do this mostly by eye-balling it. Up the damage dice for any natural weapons used by a single step. Give the creature a dodge or parry bonus that seems to fit, and leave any special abilities unchanged. you can swap out feats if they dont exist in the Conan system, or if a Conan feat would fit the creature better then its original feats.

Thanks for the response Ibram.

It's mainly the Parry & Dodge bonus for creatures that I am wanting some guidelines on.

If you look at the dodge/parry progression you'll see that there is a high, a medium, and a low progression.

High dodge progression would work well for a "quick" creature (Invisable Stalker... a great Conan monster IMO) while high parry progression would work for a "strong" monster (Ogres ect). Medium progression would work well for humanoid monsters, and low progression would work for animals / ooze types.

It's not even that hard - since most monsters in Conan have a set "DV", I don't even bother worrying about parry or dodge for 99% of non-humanoid creatures. The only bump in the road is figuring out if the creature has any natural DR, but even then I use armor as a guideline.
