Conan: Red Nails

well, one image has Conan holding a severed head. So, it doesn't look like this will be some sanitized kiddie version of the story. Good.... 'cuz Red Nails is probably the most gory and violent story in the whole saga...

What ever happened to the rumors the Triple H was going to be the next Conan or at least star in the movie.

Initially, the rumors were that Triple H (or the Rock) was going to play Conan's son, while Arnold was going to return to the role of the mighty Cimmerian himself. But following Arnold being elected Governer of California, the rumors changed to Triple H assuming the role of Conan.

However, these rumors died altogether when King Conan: Crown of Iron was scrapped by the studio after years in pre-production limbo and John Milius left to work on other projects. IMO, this was a real pity; having read some of the King Conan script reviews on AICN and IGN a few years ago, it sounds like it could have been an incredibly cool movie. Think of a Conan epic that spans decades and features all the blood, gore, and high adventure of the original movie, but also includes battle scenes on a scale comparable to those in the LotR films.

There are rumors now that Robert Rodriguez (of Sin City fame) will be making a new Conan movie, but much like how Batman Begins dosen't have any connection to previous Batman films, the new Conan movie would be the start of an entirely new franchise and not connected to the previous films.

Only shatter my hopes :(

Looks kinda cool. I hope it is a sign US audiences are ready for cartoons aimed at adults. Only cartoon comedies have made it into mainstream for adults.
