How do I handle this according to the rules? -- Monster/foe takes advantage of shadowy illumination to make a hide check (successful). The PCs do not see or hear the monster. There is no cover in the room.
Moments later, PC cranks up another light source which brightens the area the monster is currently hiding in. Does the monster need to make another hide check since the illumination it was using to hide no longer exists? Or do the PCs get another spot check? Or does the monster simply stay hidden since the first check was successful?
