D&D 5E Condensed 5e Rules, a Godsend

It's a pretty good crib sheet , but I don't think I could learn the rules from this if I wasn't already familiar with them. You can't really get more condensed than 5e already is without losing some of the nuances. In this case, the effort has resulted in several inaccuracies.

Yeah, but it's helpful to first get an overview, makes it easier to go into the original text to search out discrete packages of rules, armed with the aforementioned overview for high-level understanding.

It does seem to only reference the Basic Rules, though. I was hoping it was for the PHB/DMG.

It's a good idea.

I've had a couple of (beginner) players asking me for the rules of the game, but instead of pointing them to Basic D&D, I told them to not bother reading anything in advance. The Basic rules are very well written, but they are still large enough to give the impression that the game requires hard study before being able to play, which is not true.

I've been thinking myself about writing down a condensed document, which ideally shouldn't take more than a very few pages, at least with reference to the "rules of the game" (keeping "character creation material" separate), but my suggestion to beginners is nowadays just to start playing the game, and eventually read Basic later.
